Ive heard Andy is Straight, but not once has he actualy come out and said so. He should be honest up front about his sexuality, dont you think?.

Of course he should. How else are we to know whether we should support him or not?

Also when he did his performance his body movements and just everything made it obvious. I don't care if you don't agree with me but IMO he is gay.”

What an incredily shallow post.

Heaven forbid that a man should have the sheer termerity to go through contestant`s wardrobes. Heaven forbid that they should have an interest in clothes and fashion.

Have we now perfected a Science which informs us - through a person`s body movements - if they are gay or not? I must have missed that Scientific breakthrough.

In the - highly unlikely - event that Shayne suddenly announces he is gay. Do you seriously believe that he will lose most of his female fans? Utter nonsense! Gay men are incredibly popular with most women (as well as with some men!! )............Will Young is a prime example. He has a huge female following who love him and scream at his concerts. They know he is gay - but here is the point - they don`t care. It is the talent (and good looks) they admire. His sexual preferences are his own business.

It is also very possible that there are lots of gay men out there who fancy Shayne and will still fancy him even if he is - as I believe - straight. People have their dreams y`know!

It is incredible that in this day and age this subject should even become an issue.

Can I just say how incredible it is when you all ask does it matter or not? And when you critisise others for having their own opinions well if it did not matter then why do you all go through such trouble of writing big paragraphs on this thread?? It obviously does matter!

It really does not matter if a person is gay, straight, bi........whatever.

What does matter is challenging your somewhat narrow view of what constitutes someone as gay.

Heaven help any male friend of yours who is interested in fashion or clothes. Shove a gay label on them and all is well with the world.

Sheltered life? Sweetheart if you only knew................

People are mis-understanding me.

By camp, I dont nessecerily mean camp as christmas like Sean off Corrie. I mean he has camp mannerisms (soft, feminine) The way he speaks is soft. The way he moves his arms about.

If he has grown up in a house full of women, where is he goona learn to be "butch"

Im not insulting him, and im not saying that everyone who grows up in a 1 parent family grows up camp, but if they are with their mum a lot they grow up more sensitive and less "blokey"

Doesnt automatically mean that he is a gay.

I actually find that very insulting!

Really? But it is what you said in your opening post.

I think most people would find your opening post quite - if not very - insulting.

However, I am not entering a bickering competition with you. Like you said - we are all entitled to our own viewpoints. And I was simply stating mine.

But I did not try and insult a particular person by saying something like: Shove a gay label on them and all is well with the world' did I?

Have you actually re-read your opening post? According to you, Shayne is gay because he went through other contestant`s wardrobes and showed an interest in clothes etc.

You really don`t seem to know much about the subject at all really.

I`m not quite sure why you started this witch-hunt thread in the first place. Doesn`t the reaction to your post from most people who`ve posted here tell you anything at all? Don`t you think you`ve insulted gay people by your comments in your opening post?

Actually - don`t bother to answer any of the above. I have a feeling it would be utterly pointless discussing this further with you.

Cheers.

A Great post!

Maybe all the Black contestants should confess as well

Well done for getting across a difficult issue in such a simple, yet most effective way.

Hold on. There are 2 different points here.

1. No one should have to disclose their sexuality to anyone against their own wishes.

2. You cant stop people speculating. Calm down or deal with it.

Ok I apologise for jumping the gun, just thought you were jumping on the bad single parenting bandwagon

I can see your reasoning for what you are saying but he may have had male influences in his life too.

I see what you mean about the more sensitive and less blokey, that is possible, I just don't see the camp mannerisms, doesn't mean he doesn't have them I just don't notice them.

Sorry again

If Shayne was Gay then he'd be more sensitive to a song's lyric instead of just using it to pitch sound on like he does (what my former singing teacher calls 'having a vocal w**k' - no wonder Sharon gets aroused). Anyway, instead of discussing a person's sexuality (who cares anyway), perhaps we should be discussing which contestant buys their undies from Marks & Spencer, or what party they voted for in the last election. You know, something that really matters. These gay witch hunts are so passe!

(Passe is French by the way)
