I would like to see Fiona do the jive with Eamon Holmes. She would look great, and Eamon would give everyone a laugh. It could be for Children in Need.

There are other Forums where no matter what Mr Cole does the people on it will vote for him, even if he was terrible, we need to rid ourselves of the "Dross" so it may be 4 women out in 4 weeks, leaving the men, Patsy and Zoe then we can have a dance comp, the other thing to think of is they are getting another Latin dance which Brendanprefers,Biased or what!!!

Brendan and Fiona are dancing a Foxtrot this Saturday - a ballroom dance.

It's true - I've read it too, it seems they will vote for Brendan even if he's dancing with a rag doll - which in fact is probably a better idea.

I just don't think she's trying although she does seem to be enjoying it a bit more than she was

personally I think Brendan could do so much better with a different partner. Let's face it, Fiona can't dance and can't understand why she is still in the competition.

Personally I could asked him lessons in the sack as well as on the dance floor. The man is a god

We've been through all this before. And I always end up very cross.

Christopher Parker was a terrible dancer and he got a long way.

Diarmuid Gavin was also not a good dancer and he stayed in for quite some time.

This year it's Fiona. Although, unlike the others, people are voting for the pro as much as the celeb.

It's been OK so far, but I will start to get cross if she's kept in at the expense of any of the really good celebrities.

Yes Catherine are you ok? You left an odd message on the "Ballroom Bill" thread too...

Oh on the other thread Catherine has just amended the post saying her son had been posting - having a bit of fun I see - so she's now editing the random posts!

Ok, she cant dance and shes as dotty as hell, but hey! She is what she is. I like her and, at the end of the day, shes a looker too. So she gets my vote anyway.

To answer the "how long?" part of the thread title:

I think that unless there is a marked improvement, she'll go next week.
If they do actually look better as in perhaps a simple routine with Brendan not dragging Fiona around the floor during the Foxtrot, then I'm afraid it'll be Dennis or Will facing the chop unless they do very well with the judges.

To be honest (andI have no teaching or dancing experience so you can dismiss everything I say), I think if they pick a very simple routine with basic steps and do them well, have good posture, keep in time with the music, if the outfits are beautiful and they choose a good piece of music (perhaps something more traditional rather than a modern reworking), then the judges might appreciate the routine and they'll get through.

I think that from ITT tonight it looks like Brendan has reevaluated his goals and is going more for the keeping-things-simple approach and try to make it fun for Fiona, which will be fun for us - we might see something like the bum-plonk at the end of the jive!

Fiona's jive was so awful that I could hardly bear to watch, and yet I couldn't take my eyes off it. Like roadkill in slow motion. It was horrible.

A small part of me does feel sorry for her because she is making an utter fool of herself (did she realise how bad a dancer she was when she accepted the gig??), but mostly I feel annoyed that she's just so bad. Her "jive" involved standing around giggling.

Yes, but Fiona will still be shite. Brendan couldn't have made the jive much more basic.

Poor Fiona.

You know what I'm dreading? That she'll be good. That she'll end up improving from week to week and winning it and her smug grin will be everywhere. She's Vordermanesque in irritation factor for me.

Actually maybe the reason she can't dance is because one of her feet is usually lodged in her mouth. I remember seeing her on GMTV interviewing a young woman who had lost an arm through meningitis. At the end of the interview she leant over to look at the arm and commented on how realistic the hand looked, finishing with the gem that even the nails looked real and in fact they looked like they could do with filing.

Apologies, none of that is constructive but I needed a rant.

Exactly.

Even lesser versions of that, such as staying another week, are irritating.

I will find it impossible to enjoy SCD while she remains.

I don't hate her, I'm really not bothered by her either way, but I wouldn't like to see her stay in at the expense of better dancers. I don't really mind the people that have been knocked out so far, although it's a shame for the new dancers like Matthew and Zorro not to get a chance to show themselves off properly. I won't be too worried until it gets down to five or six couples. If she's still there then, she'll be so far out of her depth learning two dances, and she'll be knocking the really talented ones out. If I was her at that stage I'd be taking every opportunity to ask people not to vote for me, because the whole thing would just be too awful to deal with.

Remember, her Brenden/GMTV/sympathy/getalife fan base will remain fairly static. Every week others will leave and those votes will be redistributed. I doubt many will go to FP unless she actually dances well. Hopefully her votes are already being diluted and lets hope she falls into the bottom two this week if she is dire at dancing again. Once that happens, I think we can be happy she is on her way out.

If she turns a corner, then fine.

I feel sorry for her and Brendan, they shouldnt have been put together, theyre totally different personalities and more or less cant stand each other. Her tendancy to whinge is starting to get on my nerves though. I think they are purposely making sure Brendan won't win again. grr.
I love him, he has such a short temper - so much like me.
I reckon she should go this week, there are better performers, and at the end of the day, we are meant to be voting for the best ones, so in reality she should go. No doubt she wont though, grr - dont vote!

I have to watch Fiona from behind a cushion! Surely she can't get the sympathy vote again this week??
