If you don't like seeing your favorite 'slagged off' I would advise you to keep clear of these boards mate!

It goes with the territory.

Not my favourite actually, but the guy seems genuine and has done nothing to deserve the comments of arrogant and big headed etc.

Really makes my blood boil when people start jumping on each others bandwagon with imaginary facts.

Are people allowed to have an opinion? What bandwagon?

Why do you think it's necessary to tell people to grow up because they find a singer in a competition dull?

Why is your opinion that he is 'genuine' supposed to have more credibility than someone else's?

So what is it about Andy that you don't like? It's a genuine question, by the way, I'm interested.

For the record, I think he's got a great voice, but I do find him dull, he doesn't excite me at all. I don't know if he's big-headed or arrogant, I'd need to see a bit more of him to decide. And I'm certainly not under 20 - I wish!

No great opinion of Andy either way really - don't like the way the show are pushing the 'umble bin man bit, when it seems that the reality is a bit different what with being Brenda's backing singer 'n' all, and the appearance of the Jonathon Ross talent show thing, but that's by the by - just thought last night's song/performance was not good - it was the aural equivalent of Valium to me.

ROFL!!

I am certainly over 20! Your assessment of Andy's genuineness is no more and no less valid than those who find him false, complacent or dull.

Imaginary facts?

Didn''t you describe Chico (((MEGA-CHICO-TIME))) as a performing clown, and advised him to try fire eating to stay in the show next week?

DOES THAT MAKE YOUR BLOOD BOIL?

Hypocrisy makes my blood boil!

Definitely not under 20 - more 20 x 2 plus some but I found Andy very boring last night.

I would like to see him perform some more contemporary numbers.

Apparently, Phillip has predicted that former binman Andy Abraham would win the show.

I thought Shayne & Phillip were close friends.

Andy sends me to sleep! He's got a decent voice but not my cup of tea.

Andy seems a pleasant guy and has a good voice, but if anything proved that he hasn't got the X Factor it was his rendition of the Nat King Cole classic Unforgettable.

I kept wishing I could hear Nat King Cole's memorable and highly distinctive voice singing this track, which he so made his own. He had star quality, Andy was only a poor shadow of the original. Why Simon and Louis were praising him so highly is beyond me.

Maria or Brenda to win!

I'm well over 20! and do not like Andy or his smug attitude. He has not got the X-factor but is over-confident.
Maria, Brenda or Journey South to win........

*bets that I'm the only 14-year-old here to support Andy*

..Thought so. I certainly don't think he's anything approaching bland. Last night's rendition of Unforgettable was spot-on and was clearly effortless for him. Excellent.

i dont like him, hes got a good voice but as someone said, hes more worthy of a backing singer.. i had to close my eyes and not listen during his performance last night

Oh dear, am I in the minority? I thoroughly enjoyed Andy's performance last night. Admittedly, he sang one of my alltime favourites, but I thought he sang it really well.

I also like him beacuse he doesn't ram his background down our throats. The judges bring up his job as a dustman, but I haven't heard him whitter on about his kids etc like the awful Chenai does! She's out for the sympathy votes, he just gets on with it...

You're saying exactly what I've been saying, though I do get my head bitten off for it so I have to whisper now

I find him dull as well. I am not disputing the fact he has a great voice, but he just seems to lack anything else. I can't see how he will be any different to Steve if he wins (ie dropped after a year) as I can't imagine who would buy his records either.

He also strikes me as a bit big headed and I would like to see him in the bottom 2 soon just to bring him down a peg or two.

I think Andy is technicall good, but doesnt do anything for me at all, Id rather have someone who sings the odd bum note now and then, but makes me feel something in their music, than someone who never sings a wrong note, but leaves me cold.

I don't think he's got an ounce of X Factor in him. His voice is good but that's about it. Who will buy his Nat King Cole-esque records after the show is what the judges should be asking. They'll be making a huge mistake taking him down that route because it is hard to see him selling records en masse. He'll be another Steve

Andy is on par with Nicholas, Chenai, Journey South and the Conway Sisters. They're all quite unremarkable in their own way, are as dull as dishwater and have the appeal of a three day old salad. There are a number of superior performers for each one of them out there already, so what's the point of having these inferior clones thrusted upon us week after week? These type of shows have yet to find a singer capable of creating a stir in the international recording industry. Finally, Shayne, Brenda and Maria are the only performers with some potential this year (though whether either one of them will go on to make it on both sides of the atlantic, I doubt very much).

I believe Shayne and Maria are capable of a short career in the music business but the others will head in the Michelle McManus/ Brookstein direction

You are probably right.......but doesn't that likelihood make a mockery of the whole supposed ethic of the show!

Already quite a few posters on the X-Factor boards are realising that the show is just a updating of a talent show, but showcasing singers. The one thing it is not, is a show that will be putting forward a singer capable of being what the show purports to be its aim.

You have to live in hope that maybe one day this show or similar may actually find someone with the special potential to be big, but I'm afraid that it is a very faint hope.

I'm also afraid that anyone supporting artists in this show and believing them to be capable of such success, are fooling themselves.

he is a bit boring but then again i tend to judge on their talents and not their characters (unless they were really horrible which imo hes not, hes just dull). At the end of the day im not going to sit in a pub with him and be forced to have a pint with him, i only have to listen to him which is cool as i like his voice.
