This article says what I have been saying on this forum for days.
I have watched all 3 bb in the UK and have seen the UK public attitude change with each one.
The first bb felt uncomfortable to watch at first because of it voyeuristic nature. I can remember not telling anyone i watched it because i felt like "a nosey neighbour".
How we have changed in 3 years. I too am appalled at how strongly people on this forum feel about hm.Jade and Adele inparticular, they may be prepared for the exposure bb3 will give them and im sure they wouldnt have gone in to the house and expected everyone in the country to like them. However the threats and hatred towards them has shocked and scared me. Murderers and rapists are given an easier time.
Maybe its time to stop bb at 3 and get back to reality. I love the show but I watch it for what it is. I cant HATE any of these people what have they ever done to me?
I am going to watch tonight and if adele or jade are greeted with the boos and jeers that everyone seems to hope for then i shall be cringing with embarassment and shame for the ones who have taken this GAME so seriously and been so affected by 2 twenty somethings.

And NO I dont support Jade at all ....but I do think that CHANNEL4/ENDEMOL are using the contestants to leach us out of money by creating "hate figures"

I have a feeling you might be right, nasty isn't it? I am the first to admit that I do not like Jade, nothing to do with what she looks like. In my defence I would like to say that I have thought long and hard about this, it isn't just a media fueled gut reaction to someone completely alian to me. I HAVE been very rude about her but again only after a great deal of thought. I cannot bear the hate-filled comments that appear on here about ANY of the HMs and there really is no excuse for the baying mob mentality, screaming for the blood of someone we are never likely to meet, never mind get to know properly is really rather sad.

I said a long time ago that C4 were exploiting Jade. I think any warnings from psychogists to not put Jade in the house were ignored.
Its interesting that the whole mood this year of BB has been one of negativity.
The producers have encouraged this by stirring up conflict and doing things that bring out the worst in the contestents (ie. introducing the bars) and not the best (like the cooperative tasks of previous year).
In the previous two years I suspect that the viewers had considerably more empathy with the contestants than they do this year. I remember actually being sad when contestants left...
The feel good version of BB is obviously not the viewer draw (and money spinner) this new improved conflict oriented one is. Which lets face it is pretty obvious when you look at the rest of the media. It is sad that our society is that way though

But if he and everyone else had already made up their minds on jade before reading the negative press she has had, is not the tabloids fault she is hated. if this is the case, the papers ars just reporting on how everyone hates her.

But thats what we were encouraged to feel by carefull editing and tasks sometimes designed to cause conflict.
We have to remember an awfull lot of the population does not have the benefit of E4 or a PC to access these boards .
I have to admit at the beggining I felt the same but having gone more into depth about her homelife.... and seen a more amusing side to her I dont feel harshly about her .I feel PITY.
I WILL vote her out next week ....but in the spirit of the "game" ...not for "hate"
Ch4 have decided that either KAte or Jonny should win, its petty damn obvious in the way the edit the show and the way they write up articles on the official bb3 site.
They have been putting Adele, Jade, and Alex in a bad light since day 1. They constantly refer to them as backstabbers and bitchers. Meanwhile I see no evidence of Backstabbing except on Jades part, Adele and Alex have never said they were great friends of Kate and Jonny.
If you want a backstabber look at PJ the guy hits the sack with JAde then talks about her behind her back, he tells her she's 1000% f*ckable when we all know he regrets his little romp with her.
And every single HM in there is guilty of bitching about someone else.

I think she manipulates people with her "baby" act, which annoys me, and I want her out of the house and off my TV screen.
However, I wouldn't scream abuse at her on her eviction night, or spit at her if I saw her in the street.
I do hope she gets a few boos when she leaves, so that she might start asking "why?", and be encouraged to take a look at herself, and try to change a bit.
When she leaves the house, she will leave our TV screens, and we won't have to watch her. So let's allow her to get on with her life, and this experience may be her turning point.

Thank you for this thread. I was starting to think the world has gone mad. I don't think anyone deserve this Roman Circus. CH4/Endemol are very much responsible for this with their biased coverage of the program. Pity we are a minority.
The hatred of certain HMs by the viewing public will certainly affect the behaviour of potential HMs in any future series of BB. The first two series did not create the public hate figures that we have seen in BB3, but now that this has happened, anyone who is considering applying for BB4 will only have themselves to blame if they follow the same path as Adele and Jade.
