On her way out of Strictly Come Dancing last night Gloria Hunniford said that whoever got Darren Bennett as their partner in the next series of SCD would be a very lucky woman.

Do you think there will be a fourth series of Strictly Come Dancing next autumn?

can't imagine there not being, to be honest. its so popular, and becoming even more so all the time, its that kind of programme that the weekend needs- something with the glamour and almost an "escape"from humdrum life ( exaggerating a bit i know) entertainment in the true sense of the word
fingers crossed

I might have to go kidnap the bosses of the BBC if they dont do a 4th series!!! I dont care if i go to prison for it! I'll sacrifice myself to get the show on again! (as long as the prison has a tv set!!)

But let's have a voting system whereby celebrities are voted on for their dancing abilities, not just because they are athletes/cricketers/actors in favourite soaps/snooker players/whatever.

Think that'd be a tricky voting system to enforce.

"Are you or have you even been an admirer of (celebrity name) or their dancing partner (dancer's name)? Press 0 for no, Press the hash key for yes.......You have selected the 0 key for no. Thank you. Your vote has been counted."

I know what you mean and sympathise with your point of view, but you know there's always going to be an element of people voting for someone they like or fancy, etc, however unfair it might seem.

If they wasn't a fourth series i think everyone should write threatenin letter to the BBC until they put one on, there has to be though it's the most AMAZING SHOW IN THE WORLD!

SCD gets great ratings for the BBC, I cannot see why they wouldn't repeat it every year until the rating peak and then dip.
If they do have another series, I'd like to see the couple voted top by the judges escape from the public vote. The thought that the arguably best couple could miss out because they aren't dancing with the favourite celeb/prfessional dancer is a bit of a shame.
Obviously that escape clause might have to be removed when the numbers of couple dropped to a certain number, eg 4?

sounds quite a good idea - i would also like the BBC to replace the professionals so the show has a new outlook

In the first series, the professionals were largely unknown to the wider population...now they are also celebrities in their own right and some people probably vote for for the pro not the celeb.

I wonder if Fiona stayed in so long because people were voting for Brendan.

Does this undermine the chances of celebrities dancing with pros new to SCD and unknown to people outside of the dance world like the lovely Izabella or Zorro aka Andrew? Although Karen Hardy seems to have a lot of fans and she is new to this series.

Maybe the pros should be changed every series to even out the playing field? Myself, I'm not in favour of it. I think the 'pros we know' are part of the appeal.

I'd be really sad if we didn't get to see the regular professionals - if you can call them regular by series 3! They'll just have to keep increasing the number of contestants to bring in new professionals. I'd already be lookng forward to seeing Karen again with someone else next year (much as I love her and Bill). I'd like to see what she can do with someone else too.
As for life without Brendan... and Anton... Sorry, I'm not going to think about it.

Ooh... just had another thought... to add an extra twist to the series... maybe each week the celebrities could change partners! That's be fun!

An afterthought... extremely hard work for the professionals.. but fun for the viewers!

You must be joking, part of the whole thing is to see how the celebs learn to dance and the best progress has to be wehn given the chance to dance with a pro - the progress would be so slow otherwise, mind you entertainment wise it would probably be a real good laugh.

No 4th Series and I'll be chaining myself to the gates of the BBC, dressed in a sparkly, sequined number, clutching a cardboard cut out of the lovely Ian until they change their minds!

Althoughits not beating x-faxctor, its still getting impressive ratings for saturday, so the BBC would be silly not to commission another series really

you say that but Darren Bennett was unknown last year and he won it and Ian Waite was also unknown yet came 2nd. Lillia was unknown and Fourth - so I don't think it has any bearing on how long the celebrities stay in.
