I hope they keep the 10% back every three months and the 02 treats that started last month. Hope we will in time see more improvements to the service.

No decision had been made up until when i left work.

Telefonica have offered share holders £2 per share. This values o2 at £18billion.

No plans to effect the running of the company in any way and will be kept as a seperate entity.

Why didnt I buy my shares 3 months ago when i had the chance, dam.

Apparently Telefonica are a really terrbile company. From a posting on Usenet uk.telecom.mobile

"Well I lived in Spain for 12 years until last year and I still work for a Spanish company. Telephonica has the most atrocious reputation in Spain. Customer Services are a joke -well not even that, it's none existent. They make BT look professional"

Hello from Slough.

The takeover sounds a lot more promising to me than any of the other recent rumours of a takeover by Deutsche Telekom - I can't imagine how many problems they'd have with regards to competition laws, plus I wouldn't want to relocate. (I know that may be hard to believe considering it's Slough!)

I'm sure you could find a negative comment about every single mobile provider worldwide on usenet. According to a friend of mine in Madrid Telefonica is pretty good! I guess there are always happy and unhappy customers on each network though - just take a look at some of the threads in here!

Maybe I've read this wrong but it says that they will intergrate o2 into Telefonica. Do you think that eventually o2 will be rebranded as Movistar? I'm only suggesting this because every other mobile network Telefonica have bought they have rebranded as Movistar.

Mutter from the gutter suggests that alternative bids may now be forthcoming, hence why shares were trading today in excess of the 200p purchase price offered by Telefonica.

I think its a fair bet you can slap a SOLD sign on O2, but who to and at what price is still to be decided.

But many people still use the term 'genie' to distinguish the online o2 simcards from the offline high street ones.

Technically a Genie sim card is just an o2 online sim card. However over the internet a Genie has come to mean a sim card that has the free SMS offer. A few people at o2 still use the term Genie sim and actually mean o2 online sim.

Not all Genie sims had the same offers. Over the years they were varried.
