Im so confused by this. So many people on here seem to really really not like the Conway Sisters... they aren't my favourite by a long stretch but i do like them and i just don't see what is so totally inoffensive about them to hate them as some people do

Am i the only one who thinks this way?

I do find it rather odd. Female reality tv contestants are almost always subjected to it though.

Slagging them off seems to be the thing to do this week. I don't find them nearly as offensive on my ears as Addictiv Ladies, Chico, Philip and Nicholas and I definitely prefer them to Chenai and 4Tune as well.

I think there is a lot of resentment towards them because of the Louis/Westlife connection and the alleged record deal they have already had in Ireland.

They can't be THAT unpopular though as they haven't been in the bottom 2 yet.

They strike me as a nice group of attractive girls with a degree of talent. I'm not mad keen on the lead vocals and do find it all a bit thin in places but they definitely have a lot more to offer than many of the people in the top 12.

My problem with them is the fact that they have mediocre voices, cannot sing songs very well and are weaker than the remaining acts (except, arguably, Chico). They're inoffensive yes, but they're also very bland, and I have a similar problem with Shayne in that whilst they're ok for Saturday night entertainment they lack any real talent.

i think whatever individually they sing like, imo when it is all blended together it does sound really nice and i do like the way they harmonize togther. I dont think they will remain out of the bottom 2 for much longer but i think unless the act is someone from Louis's group they will face, i am convinced Louis will save them everytime. Which is annoying but its not their faults.

I don't dislike them personally, I just think there's nothing new or remarkable about what they do.

Because they suck out loud?
But seriously I think 'hate' is a strong word. They don't arouse hatred in me just profound irritation and nausea and an urge to stick my tongue out at them and waggle my ears and jeer when they're on tv or anyone mentions them or even if I just happen to think about them but I don't hate them.

I like them lol, they are better than most in this competition - Nicholas, Chico, Phillip, Addictiv Ladies and 4tune aren't as good as the Conway Sisters

I seriously think one of their main drawbacks is the feeble name they have.

To me the Conway Sisters invokes a 1950's scene of picnics in the country with a sweet bunch of convent girls who have a penchant for la-de-la folk music.

Now, as I've said elsewhere, if they could be named something more appropriate and contemporary, such as erm...Suzy & the Sizzlers.

I certainly don't 'hate' The Conway Sisters, I just don't like their voices. I think they sound very weedy and nasal and they grate on me - I don't find them at all pleasant to listen to.

I did follow the link on another thread to their website and listened to the clips from their album and I will admit they did sound better after a studio production to polish their sound up - still not my cup of tea though. I was however quite impressed that they had written and produced all the songs on there themselves.

I find them totally boring, would I pay to go and see them NO, would I buy a CD NO enough said really.

Yeah, just as long as I keep "Sizzlers" in there. I'm not obsessed with the Conways - honest.

It seems to be the way of this forum sometimes - if you are not flavour of the week then watch out.

Personally they are not to my taste, I tend not to like girl bands - whatever genre. I find them neither offensive nor interesting, and think that thus far on Saturdays they have struggled with the songs they have been given - with the exception of Raise Me Up which was actually one of my favourite performances that week surprisingly.

Yeah i agree i really liked their rendition of Raise me Up. I mean, i have plenty more that i like over them but then again i have plenty that i dislike more. To me they just sit somewhere in the middle. There are appreciation threads for probably every act but i have yet to see one for the CS. Maybe people either just really dont like them, or just aren't that bothered like me.

Can I ask both of you then have you heard JOSH GROBAN sing this song, or even Westlife who can't hold a torch to him either and I happen to be a WL fan.. but I am honest. They ruined a wonderful song in my opinion.. My daughter aged 24 was here and went OH my GOD!!! yes she even did it like the lassie did on Pop Idol 2... that was all she said then went to make a cup of tea, we all laughed.. sorry that sounds nasty, but I am shocked they stayed and Philip WHO could sing went..

Josh Groban American aged 24 do you have the music channels.. if you do .. dont cringe watch the classical channel and see if you can catch this lad singing it.. he has such depth of voice, emotion that flows from him, and a voice to die for... and LIVE he is something else, he plays drums, keyboards, piano and sing.. well yes the lad can sing better than anyone I have ever seen live.. and that is SAYING something from the rock chick.

So for me Conway Sisters they would not even get in his backing group!! sorry they were dire!

They're boring.
They can't sing.
They have no style.
They have no personality.
They're not that attractive.
They're too similar to The Corrs.
They beat the AMAZING Eskimo Blonde.
Louis never faults them (for some reason)

In my opinion, hence I don't like them.

What's wrong with that? Far better than the usual bunch of girls these days who parade around in next to nothing and are neither much to look at or listen to.
