When louie was on this morning yesterday the telly critic who was on with them (dont know her name) said that the twist that simon hinted at last week was that he wanted it to go to the public vote, but the producers said no

do you think that simon asked for this because maybe his acts were not last in the public vote?

and do you think it would be better if it went to the public vote?

I think you're right. I doubt very much that AL got less votes than Chico in the first week and that 4T got less votes than Chenai in the second week. Under that system both his acts would have gone through.

well if simon knew or thought his acts were not last in the public vote and the only reason his acts were booted out was because sharon and louie didnt want his acts in the contest i think he had a right to be worried

it smacks of unfairness when a judge chooses an act just to get back at another judge and we are then not getting the best acts each week

it could have meant that Addictive Ladies and 4Tune went before they should have

to be fair how do u know that simon didnt boot out philip just to spite louis?
we all know philip is a better singer than chico and philip could have easily got more votes.

i think simon has started to see in chico what a lot of other people see and thats entertainment value

if chico came up against someone they thought they could make money with through recording chico would be gone

note... chico was voted out by simon the first week

Perhaps but Phillip was on borrowed time since week 1. No one is ever going to hear Chico and mistake him for Pavarotti but he does have a certain entertainment value for a lot of people that sadly, even when giving his best vocal performance of the series, Phillip didn't so it would have been a tough one to call.

The fact is Simon was willing to go with this decision even if it meant a result he wouldn't have been happy with but not being totally dependent on the public vote, unless a judge refuses to choose, is one of the differences from the PI format that was required in order for X-F to be commissioned.

I think Chico's only chances were against AL and Phillip. I don't think they would choose him against any of the other acts (except Louis may choose him over JS and I think this is the decision he has started trying to justify by saying they are becoming arrogant and so on, in case it's a decision he ever has to make). I doubt Louis would choose him over the Conway Sisters and I don't think Sharon would choose him over any of her other acts (that's if she chooses at all )

I think all the judges do know the final votes and yes I think it's possible that he is worried because his acts are getting voted off.

Not sure about the first week, Chico wasn't very popular then and it's possible that Addictiv ladies had more votes than him. The second week I feel sure that 4Tune had more votes than Chenai. In which case it does seem that Simon is being victimised by the other judges.

Maybe he just wants it to be a fairer competition and let's be honest, as much as I like and respect Simon's opinions (mostly) he wants to win and with those 2 ugly sisters against him he won't stand a chance

Gosh I don't!! I thought Addictive Ladies were really appalling. Chico's no singer but at least he was entertaining in his own mad fashion. I was just cringing with embarrassment when AL were "singing"...and it was as bad the 2nd time as the first!!

(ooh gosh - out of character for me to be mean about somebody!!)
