Just got myself a new T-mobile PAYG SIM-card. I am currently abroad and when I switch on my mobile phone, it wont access any network. Called T-mobile and they said my card is available for roaming and I should just "keep rebooting the phone". I asked if I shouldn't have made a call in the UK first, but the lady said "she didn't think so". She was not very knowledgeable though. Should I just wait 24 hours or will roaming only work after making a call in the UK first? Thanks

I think you do have to make a call first in the UK, then it becomes active. When I went to Cyprus on Holiday on Virgin, (Made calls previous in the UK etc) only took two seconds to log-on to Cytamobile-Vodafone!

Always make sure you have coverage for where you are at www.gsmworld.com and select "Coverage Maps."

Here is something to try, call T-Mobile Customer Services and tell them you are just having problems making a call from your phone and get them to connect you from the Call Centre. Give them a number to dial and this maybe will acitvate the SIM Card?

Hope this will help you a bit!
