Fair enough, I didn't notice the little dash on the E

Rapture AM is on now, a bit late (or early) for that, but they said on the forums that this weekend's programmes are just to test the playout system, so hopefully the schedule will make more sense on Monday.

Rapture launches at 19:30 on Monday, BTW...

Just noticed Rapture:AM - lovely

Glad to hear the order that they're playing out programmes is just a test... I'm getting sick of those same 3 adverts

Is R:TXT ME not returning straight away, btw? And what's the timings with R:MUZIK?

I think they've changed it to Dance Selector now. Although it would be nice if it was called R:Muzik, or going back even further, Buzz Tracks!

On the tests last night it continued until 4am then Clubland UK was on, followed by Cybernet then my tape ran out.

Am I the only person to remember the days of Rapture being on-air 10.00-18.00 weekends on Astra 1D sharing with FilmFour

Also is it possible to Sky+ these "other channel" feeds?

No, you're not; and no, it isn't. However, a real PVR can, as its FTA.

I can barely remember Rapture from the old, old days except it being there, to be honest. 2003 was when I got into it.

"Trainspotters" was shown during the tests last night - now that IS old! Didn't even have the "R" Rapture logo on the mics!

Tuned it, testing seems to be going good, music seems to be old like Mtv Dance, hopefull their will be good non-music programming.

Im not a huge dance fan but I remember having analogue satellite I used to like watching the clubbing (as in there was a camera at a club somewhere in Germany - it looked fantastic!). I think Rapture should be like E4 and only have the music selections until about 2pm, then the anime (probably get a few kids over from Toonami) then some other programmes including Tinseltown at 9pm then the clubbing.

I can't suggest any music videos as I haven't heard any good dance music for a long time, but I'm watching rapture tests now and although it's good to see something different, the videos are abit too obscure to have mass appeal. In which case they have to keep to a genre to appeal to the maximum potential audience - so choose either r'n'b or dance - don't mix them together.

Too much cheesy trance, I thought it was dead? I have no idea really, not been clubbing for 4 years.

I hope they are aiming to improve on this rather disappointing line-up.

I'd rather they just played music than Innovations, inside Hollywood and Cinema Cinema Cinema. Next we'll probably see Spectacular Spas omnibus in the line up.

I just don't see the point in launching a channel which clearly has no identity nor ideas.

That said, if they just launched a dance music channel with the club nights on in the evening and perhaps if the channel was in the music section - it would be very welcome.

But for now - that is not entertainment and should be shifted to the back end of the EPG when it innvitably starts broadcasting Psychic Live and Babestation 19.

Don't expect Cellcast stuff (Babecast etc) on Rapture. They could have easily sold out to Babecast etc last time and have saved the channel, but chose not to.

What you class as entertainment and what someone else classes as entertainment could very well be two different things. Rapture will appeal to gamers, fans of anime, as well as clubbers amongst others. If you have no interest in that then obviously Rapture won't appeal to you. But that's not to say it isn't entertainment.

I know they have lots of ideas but like all FTA channels, they have a limited budget. If the channel can pull in an audience then they'll get more advertisers, and thus more money to create new content, and who knows, they might replace the likes of Inside Hollywood.

But it's not even launched yet. Will be interesting to see how it's doing come January when Tinseltown starts.

One programme (even as good as Tinseltown) doth not make a channel. Are you telling me that come tomorrow your evenings wiewing is set out for you on 288?

I just don't see why they'd interrupt the music with Inside Hollywood.

And while I'm at it, have texting in all the time if they want, but be discrete about it. Calling a block of programming R TXT ME is suicide, most people will avoid anything on TV with the word TXT in it.

I take it you never saw R Txt Me last time? It was very active, especially at the weekend.

Sounds like it's trying to be a jack of all trades - who are they aiming at?

Not wanting to be negative - good luck to them and I hope they do well. I am just disapointed that it's not going to be a proper dance channel.

Very true, there were a lot of regulars on there... and was far better interactivity-wise than Weekender on MTV Dance as it took the form more of a chat room.

I too would like nothing more than a 24/7 dance music channel but I don't think a channel like that would survive in the UK. Between them, Rapture and MTV Dance should cater for us though.

At least when MTV Dance starts overnight signing in a few weeks, we can flick over to Rapture and carry on watching dance tunes!

Will they sign music videos like the EMAP channels do? (Which is bizzare - the signing for Emimem's was hilarious) or will it be non stop Cribs?
