Heya,

I'm really undecided which programme might win on Saturday, because even though X Factor has been winning so far, this week we don't have Ant and Dec on in between the X Factor shows and SCD starts half an hour earlier than X Factor but... having said that the closer the show get to 7 O Clock, usually the higher the ratings (if that makes sense?!). Which programme do you all think might win? I really want X Factor to do well this series!

i think its generally a slightly more popular show that appeals to a broader age group than X Factor

the oldies love it

i also think they have a great set of celebs this year, i think X Factor will find it tough without Ant and Dec, i mean who likes Millionaire anymore?

X Factor has been getting better ratings than Ant and Dec the last few weeks though and SCD has been beaten each time by the X Factor especially the results show. I do think its a mistake to put the show on later and giving the BBC show a headstart but I guess viewers will already be loyal to their favourite show by now.

X Factor did have a good few weeks headstart though

even though i'm mostly watching X Factor my contempt for how bad ITV1 has gotten has my hoping SCD wins out

I hope X Factor does better - it's a better show than the dire, dated SCD - but I'm not sure it will. For example, the past few weeks my parents have been watching XF and taping SCD, but this week as SCD starts earier they're watching that and taping XF. Imagine that multiplied across the country and the X Factor could lose a fair few viewers.

I'm not sure it will, but it could easily.

I wonder how well the X Factor would have done if the BBC had scheduled a new series of Dr Who against it instead of Strictly Come Dancing? The good Doctor did trounce ITV's Celebrity Wrestling with his comeback.

I think you're right there, I can't wait for the next series! I heard that Casanova guy is replacing Ecclestone and I am fed up with the wait!

If he was on, X-Factor wouldn't stand a chance with me!
