Anyone noticed any funny contunuity errors on TV?

I always remember the one from Star Trek when Captain Kirk was having a fist-fight in some sand (a rare occurance I know) and Spock was off to the side leaning on a polystyrene rock drinking some coffee!

Anybody noticed anything recently?

thats not really continuity error, thats just an error. lo


i dont remember any recently, infact i saw an eastenders ep a while ago, a repeat where ian beale was talkin to cindy, an in one scene he would have a bloodshot eye, then 3 scenes later he wouldn't, then he would again lol

In The Bills recent live episode a boom mic appeared on camera.
and two of the actors were smiling in the background although it was the scene where they were taken hostage by a crazed gunman.

What about Charlie's (Coronation Street) dodgy eye, now you see it now you don’t

Krystle Carrington once went loopy in Dynasty and started throwing plates around chanting "Time for Dinner... Time for Dinner...". One of the plates smashed a large vase which miraculously re-assembled itself a couple of shots later.

It was so noticeable, it made it onto Points of View (which is where I remember it from).

i remember a eastenders episode a couple of years ago when ian beale opened his fridge which was empty took out a pint of milk shut the door poured it on his breakfast then put it back in to a fridge full of food. my mums been trying to get one of these magic fridges ever since.

on last nights eastenders when stacey switched the tv off in the refection she wasnt there but 2 strange blokes sitting on the setee 1 with the remote in his hand,if you taped it pause it and see.

I noticed that too on last night's show, lol. Something like that is so avoidable by just having the actress do it herself. However, then we wouldn't be talking about it the next day.

You could understand if it was one of the older actors on the show who had served their time and wasn't really needed for such a brief shot but STACEY SLATER, ffs!!! She's a complete non-entity who has only been in the show 5 minutes.

This has bothered me for years........

On Dempsey and Makepeace, Spikings got on a train, which was clearly a Waterloo and City line train.

At the next station, some people got off, some, including Spikings, stayed on and carried on to the next station, where the train blew up.

But the W&C only has two stations, Waterloo and Bank, so by staying on at the first stop, he was just going back to where he came from......

and then there's the blinking corpse in Casualty from a few weeks ago. this was also mentioned on Points Of View

The entire second series of Nighty Night appeared to take place in random time warps - maybe this was meant to add to the 'comedy'.

In Neighbours a few years ago when Libby and Drew were still together, there were scenes of them walking in a park, then going into various premises. In the outdoor shots Drew had a beard and in the indoor shots he didn't. It was made more obvious by their constant going from indoors to outdoors.

How about a convenient storyline continuity error from the King family in Emmerdale.

The came in and began taking over the village. Many references were made to them being successful business men who lived elsewhere in Yorkshire/the country.

Then suddenly we find out Tom's dead wife is buried in the village graveyard when she died years ago when the family had nothing to do with Emmerdale.

A few weeks ago Spoons had a sketch which invovled a woman borrowing a man's mobile phone when a train was delayed. Number 1 - the train delayed was going to Waterloo and they were standing on the platform at East Finchley Station, which doesn't run to Waterloo. Number 2, the announcement was for a delayed train, East Finchley is a Northern Line underground tube station, where you don't get those types of announcements.

Exactly the same thing happens in the Film "Sliding Doors" (just take a look at its IMDB goofs entry). I presume it's easier to film there because you can just set up at one or both stations and do re-takes all day long. They are also two of the nicer looking underground stations.

(Oh, and the 1471 voice in "Sliding Doors" is wrong; it talks too quickly, but that's a bit off-topic)

Filming is done at night and underground staff can keep and administer the whole line (and the two stations) open far easier than any other underground line.

LU vet the scripts to make sure nothing negative about the UG is shown, sometimes they even have staff on duty to make sure that the film makers stick to the submitted script.

In Emmerdale the other night, the scenes kept flicking between Betty talking to Biff and Alan and the Dingles trying to do some poaching. Betty and Biff had glorious sunshine and the Dingles were fishing in the rain!!!

Only Fools & Horses has the biggest one- the corridor outside the Trotter's flat. The appearance of that has changed so many times it's unbelievable.

If you have it on DVD, you can see what I mean. Off the top of my head I can remember 4 episodes where this area is ashown (though there are more), each time dramatically different:

Strained Relations (series 4, Episode 2)
We see Rodney & Uncle Albert sitting here, behind them is a yellow wall & a window, the Trotter's front door is to their left.

He Ain't Heavy, He's my Uncle (Series 7, Episode 5)
We see "Knock Knock" (a minor character in that episode) coming up to the door. it is a long corridor and the trotter's front door is part way down.

Time On Our Hands (1996 Xmas Special- part 3)
in this episode, the trotter's Front Door is at the end of the corridor, facing in a different direction to any of the other episodes. The sound of passing traffic also indicates it is an outdoor balcony (the other 3 listed here show it as being indoors).

If they could see us now (2001 Xmas Special)
Here we see it is a wide corridor with lifts at the end.

Watch these episodes and see what I mean.

In 'Space Mutiny' which featured on Mystery science theater 3000, a woman is killed and in the VERY next scene she is sat happily working away on her computer.

At last! Somebody who actually knows what a continuity error is! I think we're up to about three in this thread now!

Does mine count? I'm sure something being hugely different between episodes (in a way that's not possible in real life) must count.

That's more of a blooper than a continuity error!
I'm not going to list all the Doctor Who bloopers or continuity errors here because there are far too many - but I'll mention a few continuity errors from the new series: -

The End Of The World - Why put the system restore switch in such an inaccessible location? Having to dodge giant fans in order to get to such an important control beggars belief.
