EE your thoughts
Here follows a question on tonights episode so contains spoilers
----------------------------------------------------------------------- In tonights episode Dennis goes to see Stacey. I remember Stacey trying it on with Dennis when she was jealous of Zoe. This lead to the two of them having a chat which ended with the pair of them having a mutual respect for each other...IMO As he goes to see her tonight does anyone think it will be Dennis who changes staceys mind about the false alibi. Or do you think she will stick to her guns. As far as i can see the only way Stacey could possibly get herself out of trouble is if she helps the police with their enquires before Chrissie is arrested. Or am i expecting too much

I'm feeling sorry for you now so I'm replying
I don't care what happens, someone wake me up when the Soap Police have solved the crime, Chrissie's wig has disappeared over the horizon, and there's a new storyline which doesn't involve Grant bullying teenagers. Just wanted to take this TTT for you tina, I'm sure someonelse will have something more interesting to say for you

Okay, look, I'm now having a (semi) intelligent thought.
Does Dennis really want Stacey to change the alibi anyway? He is now 'on Johnny's side' against Grant. So presumably also against Sam. And although he knows Chrissie did it, he has also said he doesn't really care. |

Ooh now you're making me think about it again! Why would it be through Dennis? (or am I wrong to think all this is going to make sense!?
)

I thought that Dennis would be too busy playing "mind games" with the Mitchell brothers, which, in my opinion seems a little optimistic. I think that the Jonny and Dennis Vs Phil and Grant development is quite interesting. Dennis and Jonny are a strange combination. I was under the impression that Dennis quite liked Andy Hunter. I hope the Jonny Vs Andy Vs Newton incident is revealed.
I'm rambling. Basically, I don't think that Dennis will change the alibi as I think he will be more involved in some new plot against the Mitchells with Jonny. |

Maybe the reason Dennis goes to see Stacey is to pressure her NOT to change her story, and that's why she disappears. Feeling the pressure from all sides.
It's true though that her best chance of not getting charged is by going to the police herself and admitting she lied. I'd like to see her do that, and for it to be her decision, no one elses. |

Stacey is frightened of how Kat would react if she told the truth. Kat is a mother to Stacey. Remember what Stacey's mother did to her.
Stacey is frightened that Kat will reject her. I think she is more frightened of that than anything. Stacey wants to tell the truth (there's no doubt about that, she hates the whole situation). If Kat let her, she would. That's why she runs away; she's being pulled in so many directions and under such pressure. I can see Kat realising just how much she has hurt Stacey (just as she realised she had hurt Little Mo a couple months back). |

I suppose there is the fact she's not technically an adult yet, and although it's considered a crime, I don't think it would be the first time a young person has got off for lying and withholding evidence. Of course she could always say Chrissie threatened her.

If the worst came to the worst, Kat would take the heat for her.
It was Kat's idea, not Stacey's. Stacey has wanted to tell the truth right from the start, but her fears for Zoe, and also the fear that Kat won't love her anymore if she tells the truth, are making things very, very hard for her. From what I have read Kat tells Stacey to tell the truth. But I think it would be better storywise and more true to the character if Stacey did so herself, and then she and Kat would have an argument/heart to heart. She can say Chrissie threatened her, which would thus explain her "timing". After all, didn't Chrissie threaten her at the Miller's party? BTW Some of the teasers of the Christmas episodes suggest Little Mo tries to bond with Stacey after Kat's departure. That could be interesting, and funny. |

It wasn't kat's idea was it? It was Stacey's. Chrissie came to ask Kat to give her and Zoe an alibi, but Kat couldn't because she wasn't in the square at the time. When Stacey realised it was important to Kat because of Zoe, she volunteered to do it herself. She didn't really know why she was doing it, and was obviously just trying to 'make herself a real Slater'.

Yes, that's true, but Stacey did not know the shape of things.
Kat fed her half-truths, and she based her decisions on what Kat had told her. Ironically, the only person who knows how Stacey really feels about this whole business is Chrissie. |
