Hi all, just bought a Samsung D600 and it's fantastic but after using the supplied software to add an MP3 file to my phone (it wouldn't let me add it to the Sounds file and suggested 'Other Files' instead) it won't let me play it and reckons it is an invalid file format, the manual does say that MP3 files are valid, all I can presume is that it's the old Vodafone restriction that only let's you play MP3's that are downloaded through their 'Live' connection? I hope not although when I bought a SE S700i from them it was packaged and branded with Vodafone but this time there is nothing, not even a Vodafone icon on the phone itself so I believed it wasn't branded? I debranded the SE but I don't see that the Samsung can be done, argghhhhhh. Anyone know if I am right or if I am doing something wrong?

Thanks,

it should be ok, i have put mp3 onto my mate's D600 which were just ripped off a cd and they work fine. are you sure that you haven't knocked off the file extension by accident, e.g. it might be "track1" rather than "track1.mp3", or maybe its a .wma (windows media audio) file you are trying to access maybe?

It still comes up with the .MP3 file extension, just remember a big issue on the forums last year over Vodafone not allowing MP3's to be added to the phones unless they were bought through them, something to do with music protection etc?

This is working fine for me. I had to convert my WMA files to MP3 first, but then they transfer to the phone and play OK.

Thanks, it's OK now, I've dumped Vodafone and gone with Virgin on a better deal and MP3's work fine
