Is there a guide to using ProjectX with the Humax. I cannot find documentation on how to use ProjectX. I get two output files when I demux (m2v and wav) but dont know what to do from here. I have Nero 6 and would like to define a repeatable process for getting films from the Humax to a proper MPEG2 file and on to DVD but seem to be missing some vital info. Is there a noddy's guide or FAQ? cos I feel quite dumb at the moment.

Any help would be good!

Why is there a 20 recording limit to begin with (Im sure this has been discussed before but I cant find the thread). Seems highly arbitary to me.

Updated the software to the new version. Now I intermittently get picture and sound blanking out on the ch4 multiplex after a few seconds. It happened immediately after the update so did a cold boot of the system whicjh seemed to fix it. Unfortunately it has stated happening again. If I change channels to another multiplex a few times it seems to go away.

Q0006: How do I record the program I have already been watching up to 2 hours?
Press PLAY twice to go to start of program then press RECORD button.

On my new Humax (August 2006):
1) PLAY twice does not go to start
2) References to GB numbers given here do not point to the intended text in the current Manual

Play twice only rewinds a recoding you are watching to the start.

You either have to press rewind to get to the start (assuming it's in the buffer) or you can press play once and get the time bar, then use the left arrow to move the slider to the time you want. There is another way but I can't remember the details where you could type the amount of time you wanted to step back?

Hi, I've only recently had my Humax, - love it just learning to use all the functions and when stuck, I found the help line fast (2 min wait) English and quick to sort the problem.
However this one is so silly.... I must have missed something. I have set the sub-titles to off in the menu but when we change stations they come back on again (not always)
Anyone shed any light on this?

I have another question too - sorry I forgot. Where do I get the adaptor from for the TUTV card?

If it like the audio setting, the box remembers it for each channel - even going through standby. You might have to set it to off on all the channels?

I have one for sale, 2 weeks old. Cost me £42.00, you can have it for £35.00 including postage if you wish. I am going over to Sky.

Does the FAQ need an entry on what types/makes of hard disk can be used as
an upgrade for the included one? I have done a Google search and found postings about people replacing the HDD and finding that the replacement chatters loudly on chase play. It would be useful to know what disks have been used successfully and also what was the cause of the chattering.

It's of no use now, TUTV has changed to TUTV anytime, at present it requires a dedicated box.

Yes, TUTV changed the way their service works. There is a special deal for existing customers apparently, but generally speaking you do have to use a completely new PVR-type box.

There havent been any threads started here saying the humax isnt working when going to tutv channels. Perhaps its just the Anytime service thats requires a special PVR.

The channels are there when you use the Humax, including the new Anytime ones, but most are locked. The Anytime channels are basically promotional ads for the new service.

I wonder if anyone who bought the TUTV cards initially can still use them on the Humax or if that's by the by now because of the new service.

Hi Tony, I was trying to say none of the TUTV users have made any posts saying their tutv channels are not working on their Humax. I think to get the Anytime service it is that which needs a special PVR. I believe TUTV themselves have now been confirming the TUTV service is going to be two seporate services side by side with the PVR only Anytime service. Nothing to stop TUTV stopping services in a couple of months - which will result in posts about tutv not working on the humax

I see the channels listed in the EPG, but for the TUTV ones you need to be a TUTV customer to view them on the Humax and to see any of the programmes that will be in the Anytime EPG listings you will need an Anytime PVR when they are released.

The TUTV "classic" channels are still being broadcast, although in a much reduced format.

http://www.topup.tv/current.html

The TUTV starter packs have been withdrawn from sale in the shops, but you can apparently still order 1 from TUTV customer services.

Of course if the cost of the starter pack and £7.99/month is classed as value for money when you consider what you are getting is a different matter.

TUTV have also stated that the "classic" service will be discontinued at some point next year, reading between the lines I think that it will run until Sentana start up their own channel in preparation for live premiership football next August. (TUTV will be supplying the cards for this).

I am an existing TUTV subscriber and can confirm that you can still receive them with the Humax.
Plus a cam of course.
