help after formatting the harddisk
Dear experts,
I by mistake pressed format and all the recordings are gone. Is it possible to recover them? I can use the pc link. Also, not as devastating and urgent to know, can I transfer the update file from Humax to the humax 9200t via usb instead of the 9-pin cable? Thanks, Sammie Jordan, a very very stupid girl. |

The only way to update the firmware is by the RS.232; the USB port is for uploading recordings and that is if you are one of the lucky ones. |

You can I believe use a serial-usb adapter to upload from the usb port of your pc but you cannot upload firmware via the usb port of the humax, if that makes sense.

Five minutes is a fairly long time, I reckon.
And I think it takes longer than that to get the guide for other than the current day. |

Are there any plans to save the EPG to hard disk to stop the long loading times each time you turn it on?

I am in the process of looking to replace my old vcr with a hard drive pvr. I only wish to record from terrestrial channels and my sky digi box. I am very impressed with the spec of the Humax pvr 9200T, but was told by a sales person he "didn't believe" it was suitable for what I wanted. Is he right?, and if so what is the nearest model that would suit my needs please.

I last checked on this product MANY many moons ago. The FAQ had just launched but it seems it is very out of date.
Is there any document that shows the current state of development on this product (i.e. is it 100% stable yet, what features are "promised", what are still "wanted",what bugs still hanging around). ??? |

Added FAQ
Q0036: How do I know if I am running out of disk space? A0036: Menu>Record>HDD Control tells you how much space is free. (Be careful to use the EXIT key to exit as the OK key will format your disk! Although the average programme uses about 1.5gbytes per hour it varies so aim for 3 gigabytes per hour of transmission time to be on the safe side. My previous PVR, and any others I've experienced, had an easily viewable monitor along the bottom of the recording or playing menu. The lack of this is the biggest problem I have with the Humax. |
