Did anyone see this story in the sun? According to BBC insiders Anton thinks she is beneath him and inconsistent.
She's a lot different to his other partners, Lesley and Esther Rantzen

What do you think...remember it was in The Sun

Anton's so charming I can't imagine him saying this. Patsy's different to his other partners because she's so much younger! Methinks someone somewhere is a teensy bit jealous of her?

I think the words "BBC Insiders" are very telling here:- this could mean anybody and seems unlikely to be a genuine source.
Anton appears to have nothing but praise for Patsy whenever he has been on ITT

I'm sure he is normal and there are people in life he prefers over others, but he is a consumate professional and I cannot imagine in a million years he would bemoan a celebrity partner.

Anton has loved all his partners, and he has such a laugh with her I wont believe he said anything like that. The papers just want a story about hate, to wind things up a little, and just make things up out of thin air.

Poor Anton, I don't believe for a second that he would say things like that about Patsy, and this sort of thing must affect his relationship with her. Poor Patsy if she reads it or hears about it. I don't think she'd believe it, they seem to have built up a really trusting relationship, but still it must hurt.

At least Patsy's not knocking her husband about, like certain Sun editors I could mention...

It will be quite out of context and jokey with Patsy in on it even if half true
which is ludicrous as anyone who knows Anton or Tony even knows he just wouldnt say it

Exactly, Sadie. Sounds to me like someone's trying to give the heebie jeebies to Patsy by planting stories...

Anton loves Patsy-he's always so charming about her, unlike certain other Kiwi professionals...

I think ur right Geeny. It was probably a jokey thing and they thought hey big scoop here. I mean if Anton hates or dislikes her, he's hiding it very very well. They seem to have bonded really well on the show and hes so supportive of her.

Arlene thought they had fallen for each other So how can one person pick up on that and then another person say theres just dislike there. Doesnt correlate in my mind.

Well it is the SUN, as you so rightly point out !!!!!
Are they trying to boost voting by getting in on the Fiona/Brendan, Sarah/Brendan, James/Camilla off screen antics ??? It's getting a bit like a soap, but then it does keep us glued to the box all week.
AND Let's face it some of these male dancers have egos the size of the Eiffel tower !!!!!!!!

I suspect this is a case of The Sun attempting to detract from their own problems regarding their editor, with another load of old tosh.

One can see this simply isn't true. Anton may be a professional, but it is very hard to hide dislike. He is an excellent dancer and choreographer and Patsy is obviously an easy person to get along with; they make a great dance partnership.

However, I wouldn't put it past another well known professional male dancer to start a smear campaign!!??!!

What an arrogant sod! Making comments like that, it proves he is below her! And IMO Patsy is a better dancer than Lesley and Esther.

Sorry guys, but I actually think there could be a grain of truth in this article. They might have built it up to be more than it actually is, but it did not really surprise me when I read it.

There were lots of signs in the early training clips of Anton and Patsy that made me wonder if they got on or not. And even though Anton is praising her a lot, he's only doing it to get a good performance out of her. There are lots of indications in their body language and facial expressions that do make me wonder if the Sun article is correct. Anton is a professional and will try to make the best of the situation, and Patsy is an actress. They will deny this story at all costs.

From last week I did think they were getting on a bit better, so maybe this is actually "old" news.

As for Patsy being a better dancer than Esther or Lesley. Agree she's better than Esther (that would not be hard!) but it's too early to say if she's better than Lesley. Her tango last week was good, but her first two performances were pretty poor.

Yep...you only have to watch their body language (they always sit with their legs crossed towards each other, Anton holds her hand alot) you can't fake body language unless you are an extremely good actor. And even extremely good actors have had films flop as people could see the leading people did not like each other.

I think it probably was made in a jokey way....and after watching Anton for all 3 series..he just doesn't seem the type to say anything like that..I mean why would he? It would destroy Patsy's confidence, and the guy wants to win alot so he would not help himself.

Take tabloid reports with a grain of salt.

Well, if they're faking it, they're certainly ery good at it...my Skept-o-meter was going nuts the whole time I was reading that. I think we might need to take this with a little more than just a grain of salt.

They made me laugh on ITT tonight..even though they stand no chance now it is obvious the powers that be want Fiona and Brendan to get to the final three, however many good dances they trample over in their wake.

Thanks btw LSA.

Oh and see the post in this thread here....

See..I knew they were fine..they certainly were on SCD tonight.

I was actually a little bit worried tonight, I thought their body language wasn't what it has been. Anton standing with his hands on his hips, behind her but not touching her, and Patsy with her arms crossed defensively. They are so sweet and good together, I really hope that this puffed-up nonsense doesn't ruin their relationship!

They still had a real laugh together at the end, I just think Patsy's hilarious (as we accidentally heard Claudia say, too!). Oh, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that they are OK, and that they do as well tomorrow as they did last Saturday.

They really should get the body language expert on. It can be all smiles and jokes on the surface but what lies beneath?

Anton may not like the fact that the attention is off him, Patsy is also very funny. Plus she does seem somewhat independent and disruptive in training sessions.

I think we should be more interested in the show and the entertainment it and the people on it are providing, than daft stories about whether they hate each other or not. The media and so called newspapers like to invent and create fantasies, to get publicity, hype things up or whatever. Personally I dont believe Anton would be that nasty, and I just love watching the show, I dont want to know the other stuff. Let them all be I say.

Erm....some of those so called 'quotes' in the Sun were the things Anton can be seen saying in a joking manner in the VT BEFORE he finds out who he was partnered with. He and Patsy were laughing about it after.

Good old Sun....if there isn't a story make one up. Maybe the writer had a bet on someone else as is trying to damage the competition.
