Corrie writers
1. Who is your favourite and why?
2. Where is Carmel Morgan? 3. Who tends to write for certain characters? 4. Who writes the best comedy? 5. Who writes the best drama? |

My answers:
1. Daran Little - brings nostalgia to an episode 2. I dunno but she needs to come back 3. John Stevenson writes good material for Fred Elliot 4. All of them 5. John Fay |

Like different ones for different reasons, Chris Fewtrell is a big fav of mine
Carmel Morgan has taken some time off recently I think, maybe personal reasons?? ![]() Darren Little writes for the oldies very well. He is a great Blanche writer par example... |

1. Daran Little- I agree that he writes great nostalgia, and he's also great at doing subtle comedy. You know you're in for a good episode if he's written it.
2. Have no idea 3. I think that Jonathan Harvey and Daran Little jointly come up with some great stuff for Sean ![]() 4. Each one writes a different style of comedy and so it depends on individual humour 5. On last year's showing- Daran Little Laura xx |

Daran Little has a huge ego that spoils him.

As an ex archivist he knows a lot of the history of the show so like ot write for those with a long history on the show. Same goes for John Stevenson who has worked on it since 1976 |

I love all the Corrie writers, there isn't a single one of them whose name comes up on screen and makes me go "oh no". Debbie Oates wrote a very good script for Wednesday's ep.
But the eps I really look forward to are by Daran Little and Jonathan Harvey. I hadn't realised Carmel Morgan had disappeared. I agree Chris Fewtrell is usually solid gold, but the poor s*d wrote both Monday's wedding eps. I will draw a veil over that.

( Don't get me wrong, I loved Gimme Gimme Gimme but I just don't think he's suited to Corrie |

I think one of the things Tony Wood has done for the show is to lift the standard of the writing. Corrie's writing standard has always been fairly high but I think it's been better than ever this last year or two. To my mind there are no weak writers at the moment.
My favourites are probably Chris Fewtrell, Daran Little, Jonathan Harvey and Carmel Morgan. Oh I also like Damon Rochefort - he's a bit like Daran in that he writes brilliantly for the oldies
