I really enjoyed the performances last night, which was surprising as I didn't expect to. I know little of dancing, but I thought the Paso's would be dire - it strikes me as quite a difficult dance, especially for the men. But, I think the female professionals seemed to do a brilliant job of the choregraphy, enabling most of them not to look like they were just striding around a dance floor looking peeved! The foxtrot too is hard I think - it always appears to clear a dance floor quickly
My list then
1 Patsy and Anton
2. Zoe and Ian
3. Darren and Lillia
4. Will and Hannah
5. Colin and Erin
6. James and Camilla
7. Bill and Karen
8. Dennis and Izabella
9. Fiona and Brendan
Patsy and Anton pipped it for me, mainly because of Patsy's approach. Zoe was technically better and, I think, had a more overtly crowd pleasing routine, but, if I understood Anton's comments on ITT in the week correctly, the foxtrot is an elegant, romantic, enjoyable dance. And, if so, he and Patsy got it absolutely right - they were a joy to watch.
Will was hugely improved and it was a terrific job of leading. I liked James and Camilla's routine better, and I suspect it was technically more demanding, but Darren and Lillia got it again because of the celebrity's attitude. James looked (like Zoe) stressed - trying to get it right, and not have his back lock up no doubt. Darren acted the part extremely well and was more convincing.
It did seem to be about the dancing last night - the two worst performances were in the bottom two. I am wondering though, if Fiona's improvement was her downfall. She was still awful, but clearly had improved. So, did she loose the votes she may have been getting from people who wanted to have the humour factor continue? It was still bad, but last night she didn't actually have me rolling around the floor with laughter.
Best fun were Karen and Bill; Bill may not be a very good dancer, but their routines and approach are brilliant!
*edit - sorry, that became a bit of an essay!*
