Connectivity Question SVHS out
kdp999

Hi Can any one give me a deffinte answer to the following.

I am thinking of buying a Toppy freeview PVR. I want to attach the TV scart to my TV as RGB, and also send SVHS to my DVD recorder.

2 questions.

1) I understand the VCR scart is composite video only
2) I have heard the 4 pin svhs socket only works if the TV scart is set to SVHS as well.

I would like a concrect answer to 2) as its a real show stopper for me, is any body using the SVHS socket with the TV scart at RGB ?

Many thanks

Just out of interest - why settle for the inferior Svideo to the DVDR? Why not just link them Toppy->DVDR->telly and keep the whole chain RGB?

Maybe its his DVD-Rec, I have to have separate connections and due to the lack of RGB scarts on my TV, have to use some s-video connections.
This is because my Panasonic DMR-E85 will not pass through a signal when recording or in recording standby, so I use the box to tv (RGB) scart for watching and box to dvd-rec (s-video) scart for recording.
Also, some DVD-Rec's won't record an RGB input (JVC for example)
