I really dislike that song and I think that was Maria's least good performance to date. Just like last week, she was very good in the 'belting-it-out' parts (the chorus) but not good at all in the softer parts (the verse). With the right song she is excellent and I believe she is one of the acts who stand a chance of winning.

I hated her version of You're Beautiful. I love the song and James Blunt's voice, and was rightly Number One for several weeks. She tried to make it into this huge ballad, when it's supposed to be sung gently and in a low register. How the hell did the judges think she sung it well?

I agre those hand gestures were terrible.

I think her version lacked emotion. She hadn't got into the lyric IMO. The original brings tears to my eyes but Maria's didn't. Sometimes the words were garbled. Maria needed to feel the lyric.

Maria sung it in tune and if she'd put more emotion into to it then I think it would have won me over.

To be fair, even Blunt sings the wrong lyrics before the watershed...


And Maria love, you absolutely butchered a lovely song.

In what way did Maria butcher the song?
She made the song her own. She took a risk and it worked.
Maria was fantastic as per usual. It was skillful and confidently sung. I was blown away.

The only reason I can think anyone would think otherwise is because they are jealously of her beauty. She werrs those clothes because she has the body to carry it off.

I never knew the song but she has been the best now for last few weeks and would be a worthy winner and he is gorgeous and looked fantastic last night.

I love that song and prefer the James Blunt version, it just wasn't the same with Maria, didn't feel much emotion from her

She actually took a song I hated and made it sound good. I would actually buy her version. If she keeps this up she'll easily win the competition.

I wasnt that big a fan of Maria's before last night but now i cannot seperate Andy, Brenda or Maria. I'm not a huge fan of the James Blunt version either after hearing it 60 thousand times and she started off slightly shakily in my opinion but after that i though she performed it amazingly and i loved how she made the song her own. She took a risk and it totally paid off imo.

No - didn't think she was at all fantastic, i think she did the best that she could. IMO her singing that song completely wasted her voice. I do think she has potentially the best voice there though but so far have not seen evidence of the personality to match

Maria sounds great, looks great (my wife is ready to slap me) and is the most consistently great performer.

However I didn't like the arrangement (too grand a finale) and her little wave thing was driving me mad.... Yes I know you have five fingers on that hand so do I!

Yes, I would love to see more of that from Maria making it her own, giving it her twist this is what W. Young had. More of that please Maria, loving your work.

I can't comment on Maria's performance last night or her performances in general because I can't find the words to describe exactly how bad they are.

Totally agree, people get sucked in by the hype, listen to it again especially the beginning she was way way off key yet they never mentioned any "tuning problems". Makes you wonder

What the hell are people on in here. All I can say is I love James Blunts versin of that. But I thought Maria was amazing. She is now my fav to win her tone is so pure and she really has got better as the weeks have gone on.
If she brought that version out I would buy it stright away

Maria has a great voice, she looks good and that's it. Complete lack of personality and performance. James Blunt can just about get away with that song. It wasn't right for Maria.

That was the thing though, she didn't sing it like James Blunt, it sounded like a completly different song.

I hate the orignal, but really liked her interpreation of it.
