The implication I understood was that the man-hating post had come from a woman. It had not.

The idea I put forward remains the same. Jonny is a closet misogynist. The underlying aggression in his gags against a couple of the women suggests it. Perhaps some women might like to give their thoughts on it. Or perhaps some men. I have no axe to grind here - merely a professional interest. I dont give a toss whether J wins or not.

not sure about this thread, not sure about why men have to tiptoe through the tulips for women simply because they are women . much of the way men treat women comes from social learning and women inevitably play a part in that somewhere along the line.
I cant stand adelle, not because she is female, its because i cant stand her personality. as far as double tandards/hypocrisy are concerned, surely women are as guilty as men.

Hope the male/female landscape is not as bleak as you paint it. I think part of the problem is that siggy is using words in a technical sense whilst you are using tem in every day sense. I don't think everything siggy is saying is intended as an insult.

The reason men get more of the blame in the battle of the sexes is because in the past they have had more of the power, but this is changing. Hooray. I am optimistic that you don't need to change your identity, and feel free to fart.

the title! was given to me by someone (a female) who was disturbed and concerned that I had stolen the ID of another 'member of the cloth'! in order to avoid confusion I have adopted it and in fact have come attached (not quite in the Bowlby way of course!) to it!
I do understand siggies technical points as I feel we are 'batting for the same side' in a sense! Its just that I dont swallow it all!

A review though of Jonny is in order, given some of the responses to my suggestion that he's a mis...... The argument appears to be being made that because he is in a relationship for 9 years that he cant be a misogynist ................Wrong! The man has still not left home to set up home with this woman. Long term relationships can often serve the needy instincts of a Jonny. He even chose a woman with a name similar to his and who looks like him.

I would say he is not only a misogynist, he is the most grandiose in the house. Tim cant even run him a close second. The remaining housemates are almost primitive in their transparency.

Jonny displays narcissism on a grand scale - read some of the post on other threads where he appears to have the most exasperating effect on contributors! They have indeed "sussed him out". He is also extrememly "oral" as a personality type. Note the preoccupation with his mouth - constantly touching it, smoking incessantly. He has no interest in the other housemates at all save for how they affect him.

an exremely well put together character assassignation of jonny! well done. Just a suggestion, if youre going to do that for him, do it for the rest as well, at least you will gain more respect for a balanced viewpoint. Also, if you could show them in such a negative light it might convince others that you are not so judgemental. plese remember also that he, as with the rest of the housemates are in a false, even foreign environment, separated from their loved ones. Might this just have a detrimental effect on there personalities?
