Connecting surround sound stereo to tv
hi, i have a goodmans s stem 5055(or is it 5505) anyway i connect that up to my sky+ box using the red/white wires so i can put it on AUX for the sound, what i want to know is how do i connect the stereo to my tv so when i go to my video or ps2 i can here the sound still out of the speakers. my tv only has 2scart inputs and that is it.
probably no one will know this but, is there a code for my stereo for my sky+ remote for the volume, i posted it in the sky+ forums but no luck, thankz dickibobboy |

Are the scarts just inputs? Some scarts are outputs as well. If they are "fully wired", there will be audio outputs somewhere on the scart, and you can get a scart to phono cable to connect to your stereo.
An alternative is to connect the TV headphone socket to your stereo. |

For what it's worth, I've got my old surround sound stereo linked to the TV. I have a fully wired scart from the digibox (Thompson - nothing special) to the video (Panasonic - again, nothing special but it does have two scart sockets). The video allows scart loop-through, so from the second scart I have a cable through to the TV (the sockets are different and you have to have them the right way around). However, it is a "scart to scart and 2 phono" lead that I managed to find years ago in a Maplin shop, so I get sound on the TV or I can mute that and turn the stereo on when I want better sound.
Hope that helps a little. |
