Thanks for posting that xadie - I have been trying to put Colin and Erin where they deserve to be in our little poll but it is a bit of a struggle! Ialways noticed you and me voting to keep him up there!

Well, there were certainly no disappointments for me from Colin and Erin last night .. I wanted 'sizzling' and that's what I got!
I'm no dance expert and just go with my feelings, but it seems to me that Erin Boag is an excellent teacher .. but sex appeal can't be taught ... so I just want you to know, Colin Jackson, that your 'undulations' kept me awake into the wee, small hours .. don't tell my husband!

If you want to keep him in the running to win our own pointless but amusing forum popularity contest, it would be super if you could go and knock a point off a couple of your choice and give it to Colin. I really don't want to see the rather wooden James win, even though the prize is nothing.”

Well done i think people are reading this and voting. Colin is slowly catching others up. keep going. I need to wait for 1 more person to vote before i can vote again

I think his sexy samba did the trick the points are going up fast. Can't wait to see what dance he will be doing next week.

I've read quite a lot of the messages left on other threads and It quite annoys me.
Why is it that Zoe can alledgedly gets extra dancing help but loads of people are like 'oh she's not doing anything wrong, so what, good on her if she wants to win'
but Colin Jackson is called arrogant, competitve etc..
Or him and Erin don't dance together... sorry what about the quick step in week 2. Isn't the samba supposed to be a bit more relaxed, not clinging on for dear life.
Give the guy a break!

Colin just doesn't seem to have the following of other male celebs like James and Darren. This I just do not understand, as Colin is beautiful in every sense of the word. James is alright, I like his sense of humour, but I just don't see the great attraction. Darren is just big and beefy. I like his straightforward Yorkshire attitude, but other than that...

The James/Darren dynamic is really fuelling their popularity, as it encourages people to come down on one side or the other and to become devoted to their choice. I find it boring and predictable, but there's no accounting for taste... Poor Colin misses out on airtime and fans because that rivalry seems more 'interesting'.

Colin is lovely. I did agree his 'moves' on Saturday were over done. I did think they could have put more samba moves in. However, Zoe came easily out top with the judges and her performance was not foot perfect (his was) and I can't see why there should have been the point score difference there was.

Now Purplehaze, you know that I adore Colin and think he and Erin are wonderful, but that doesn't stop me thoroughly enjoying Zoe and Ian's performances or becoming irritated when she's accused of cheating.
But never mind Zoe, this thread's about Colin not her, and I really can't imagine why he attracts so much apathy on the forum because for me he ticks all the boxes .. lovely, sinous and toned body, sweet face, adorable smile .. and not least, an air of shyness and modesty which makes one want to hug him.

Maybe it's because he and Erin are so workmanlike in their approach to their dances and so committed to their performances that they don't waste time in gossip-generating squabbling (although they do seem to enjoy a giggle) - or perhaps it's because Colin gets very, very little exposure on ITT so we don't really get the chance to know him better - or it could be that he, being very physically fit to begin with, used to strenous training and with an athlete's ability to 'zone' in on working toward success , is doing precisely that .. working toward success.

I don't consider any of the above as faults in his character .. nor have I seen the slightest sign of arrogance .. I think he's a darling .. and I wish a few more of his supporters would leap out of the woodwork and surprise me ..

Aida, you do write really well and I like the way that you are able to be very positive about people without necessarily being negative about others. I really like Colin, too, and I don't understand why he is not more popular.

I think Colin IS popular, maybe not on here but certainly amongst my clients (who tend to be in the 50+ category) they think he's marvellous and have voted several times for him.

Thank you very much .. I try not to be too negative, but I will own up to suffering the occasional 'red mist' of fury which turns me from mild-mannered Aida into the Incredible Shrieking Woman!

Just to point out that Colin is down to the last two in the 'Who do the FPs like' thread, up against Chef Woodentop, James. Any discerning votes on Colin's behalf would be excellent. Here's the current link:

Same here! I followed Colin for so long when he was an athlete that the lack of airtime isn't a factor for me, but I'm sorry the folk who don't follow track and field haven't had the chance to see more of him.

Well I sure felt that way yesterday when I posted my rant.
Sorry but just had to get it off my chest.
I too followed him through athletics and was so excited when he was doing scd and just felt he was being hard done by. Thats what prompted my outburst.

I'm now off to vote for him. And whenever you vote for him just think of that cheeky smile, toned body you know that guy you would just love to hug.

Sorry again. xxx

Oh, sweetie-darling , I was kidding .. I loved your post, agreed with almost every word of it and just wanted to bump our boy back up to the top and shout out my love for him .. as if I could ever bring myself to be miffed at another Colin lover!

I admire you for plugging away at the voting .. and though it makes me seem like a bit of a wimp, I can't be arsed anymore since the Woodentop supporters seem to be prepared to stay up until dawn to get their own way ..

I know what you mean, I just look at that thread and dispair. There's just more of them and they're more obsessive (well, not more obsessive than me, Miss Check-Back-Every-Five-Minutes-To-See-If-It's-My-Turn-Yet, but more obsessive than most Colin fans). I just don't think he's that good a dancer. If it were down to Darren or Zoe I'd be voting for them instead, and I'm not their biggest fan either.
