is there a way to record a radio show as MP3 for export to a player?

can you convert a recorded radio recording (sound channel only) to MP3 for export to pc/ipod etc?

Yes. There's loads more info in this thread.

Basically, you transfer the recorded file to your PC, demux the file using a demuxer such as ProjectX , and convert the resulting MP2 file to MP3 using your favourite encoder.

thanks, I must admit to laziness to reading the below thread, cos the pc is on a different floor, so connection is not viable.
plus my wife does MP3s but not PCs

It's not a deal breaker tho'

Yes, i use a program called Total Recorder which is very good
