I bought my toppy from there, the websit order tracking said it was awaiting procesing even after the toppy had arrived.
I managed to phine them during mid morning, and they said that the prder had gone through and the toppy had been dispatched.
all in all everything went Ok.

These were the guys that were selling the "£3 Toppy" over August Bank Holiday weekend. No, they didn't deliver, yes they did debit your card; twice in my case, and no I still haven't got one of the debits back. AVOID, I say.

Woohoo! Just received my black Toppy from Satellite Centre. It took almost two weeks to arrive. I found that they did respond to emails, but unless you pester them they don't give you any updates about expected delivery dates or anything. It's not as slick as ordering something from a proper web retailer.

Got my first Toppy from them, swift delivery and keen price at the time. No complaints here though their web site could be better.

I bought from them with no problems. Even got to speak with them on the phone and they were very helpful and friendly in that unique gordie way.
I don't think it is really fair for anyone to complain about the £3 toppy mistake. After all this is a small dealer not a big chain store.

I think the complaint was that the money was not refunded. So double mistake!

The Satellite Centre - its just up the road from my parents house. I asked my dad to go up their to try and buy mine for me, save on delivery cost. They were very keen "not" to supply him! (nor fix his dated analogue satellite system which needs a new cable putting in).

Quite right Ang. They charged me twice, delivered nothing (OK, I wasn't expecting them to and did actually email then to tell them they needn't honour the order as I knew it was a mistake), and I am still waiting for the second refund three months later. Their phones are always engaged and they never answer emails. Up to you but I'd go with Turbosat every time.

PS, I think you mean geordie. AFAIK gordie means little fat boy in Spanish.

Weird, I presumed they were a normal sat shop and web selling was a sideline. Was thinking of visiting them as it isn't far from Newcastle, doesn't seem like much point if they don't deal face to face.

Well the toppy turned up yesterday, I did have to pester them to get delivery date and the first date they gave me was missed but they came through in the end.

Maybe someone should tell them that their business is located in Northumberland, not Tyne and Wear?

I would have popped in there for my topfield as well as some sat cable myself, since I'm not too far away from there as well.

It's a shame they don't like answering the phone/selling from base since I like to support local business, where possible.

aww well, hay ho!

I ordered a Toppy from SatelliteCentre. It had over a week lead time so after a few days I got impatient and cancelled my order by phone and email. I went to Turbosat who delivered the next day.

SatelliteCentre had already taken my money and though they were less than friendly both in my cancellation phone call and follow up email they did promise to refund my money.

I still do not have a refund and now they have sent an empty email reply to my request for a refund!

Tomorrow it will be trading standards and my Credit card company.

Personally I would use Turbosat or a company who knows how to behave!

In reply to the blank email I got from the Satellite Centre I did two things.

1) I replied to the blank email with a link to this forum thread
2) I submittted a complaint to trading standards, online.

Guess what? I had a very pleasant email form Richard at Satellite Centre apologising for the 'unacceptable' delay and assuring me the refund had just gone through.

Hopefully that will be the end of the matter.

I bought my Toppy from the Satellite Centre a few months ago, and have had good service from them. They replaced my noisier Toppy with a quieter one, without any problem. (I would guess that TurboSat, the UK agents, agreed to make the replacement.) I never had any difficulty getting through on the phone, but that was a few months ago.
