Could be the upset of the competition if he does it well! I can't wait, but am nervous for him at the same time!!

Its a funny old world isn't it? I'm seeing Weller on the 5th Dec, Bob Dylan is a huge hero of mine and I love KT Tunstall, yet you think Chico is good and I think he is sh*T

It's not that I'd go and buy a cd by him, any more than I would buy Ricky Martin (Tell a lie, I did buy one a few years back, but never play it), The thing is that I don't think anyone in this year's competition has really got to me. I feel quite indifferent to all of them even though vocally, some of them are quite good, they don't have that extra something. I'm supporting Chico because I find myself looking forward to his performances (Like Simon) more than the others. I'm hoping he'll bring something extra tomorrow
and that he'll surprise people. I couldn't stand him at the beginning, but now I dion't think he's as shallow as I first thought. We'll just have to wait and see.

off topic, do you like Nick Cave? I've seen him live a few times and he's amazing

Fair enough, I do see what you mean I feel pretty much the same about this years show, although JS have been impressing me more each week, there just seems like something real about them..

re Nick Cave - I have to be honest I don't really know much of his stuff - I've only heard him fleetingly and I found him a bit too downbeat, but then that was a while ago and I probably wasn't listening properly. I do remember he did an interesting track with Kylie bizarrely a few years back.. is it still him & The Bad Seeds?

That was a few years ago, the track with Kylie. His last album is a lot more upbeat than some of his old stuff, but I thought you might like him as he's a great songwriter, and although he's got a reputation for being gloomy, a lot of people miss the humour in his work and I find people like Coldplay and David Grey far more depressing than Nick.
And yes, he's still with the Bad Seeds, and they are a fantastic live band.

Re JS - they have got good voices, but they don't move me at all. I find myself getting up to make a cup of tea when they're on- still, it'd be a boring old world if we all liked the same people, wouldn't it?
