I recently bought a Macro Copy protection remover Scart lead, but I'm still having trouble trying to record using it. The Panasonic ES10 just displays a message similar to "Can't record this type of material", so it knows that there's some Macro encryption. Given that the lead is supposed to remove this, does anyone have any suggestions or ideas please ?

I haven't got one of those leads, but have you tried recording to a video recorder to see if it is the ES10 or the lead at fault?

I don't have a solution, but I would find out more about the scart lead itself. A lot of them don't work with DVDR at all, so depending on where you got it from you could have been sold one that will only work with VCR's.

It may be a bit obvious, but are you using the lead correctly? - if it's the same cable I've got, the end with the LED needs to be connected to the source (DVD Player or VHS) and the other end attached to the DVD Recorder.

Hi all, thanks for the replies. There are no obvious differences between each end of the lead so I tried it both ways around.
I only have one VCR, so can't do a VCR - VCR copy unfortunately.
