but dont you know, she has a job and 2 kids! you would swear shes the only working mother out there, and if she doesnt have a nanny, I'd eat my own head!

Mel said he acts like he is the celebrity and he is supposed to be there for fiona.

Ah I take it back Fiona is taking the mick out of herself, she's got a sense of humour about it.

She also said Arlene and Craig have been really nice to her since she left

Is she actually even on GMTV every day? Whenever I turn Kate Garraway is there. And how many working mums would complain about spending hours in the arms of a gorgeous man. Did she actually mention the fact it was for charity. She should change her name to Mee-ona

I think she does 3 days a week, it depends on who is on leave also. I dont have kids but I resented her constant giving out about having 2 children and a job and how allowances must be made, Karen has a 6 month old who shes barely seen since it started but she rarely mentions it, Patsy also has 2 children and Darrens 2 kids were in the audience on Saturday night. They all have busy lives, celebs and pros, but they get on with it.

I was amazed at how much Dennis does - after-dinner speaking, lots of travelling, wife with baby and lessons with the Queen of Pain. He doesn't spend all his time moaning about it either.

I did like Fiona's suggestion that Brendan should come on and teach them Salsa, after what Mel had said about him. That would have been very funny.

Oh, and Sykes? Shut up. You're on television. It's one thing to rant about a celeb in private, it's quite another to do it on tv. You're entitled to your opinion, but please show a little professionalism. What did you expect Fiona to do, sit there and agree with you? After she's repeatedly sung Brendan's praises? Just shut up.

Just quoting what everyone else has said...............
Perhaps she was trying to be sympathetic and show she was on Fiona's side, but Fi is too professional to diss Brendan publicly, no matter what she may really feel.........

Mel seemed quite determined to get that point across that he was arrogant.

Brendan Cole reminds me of Russell Crowe

You're like Brendan Cole? I can only say i've only got his temper and being very honest and emotional. Maybe that's why I like him. I guess I can understand why he's like he is

i am when it comes to the things i'm good at (note - not dancing), that said i could never teach anyone to do anything because i'm far too impatient

but i do get the whole competitive, passionate thing..artistic temprement or whatever it is

plus the best teachers i have ever had pushed me close to tears and made me better for it..i know it's not to everyone's taste but it works on me so i kinda appreciate that in him

Doesn't work with the majority. I used to teach and by far the best approach is to build confidence not to destroy it. You really have to know the person very well to take the other approach to get the'come back with all guns blazing' response

Surely it's common for professionals on tv, on radio, or in the press to express their opinions of the people who are in reality shows. I don't think there's anything about professionalism that bars such comments.

She made herself look bad, because she never has actually met him as far as i know

The thing is that Brendan isn't a reality TV star, he's a professional being paid to do a job on TV. I believe that in that situation it isn't appropriate for a TV presenter to start giving out their opinions about someone. Maybe that's old fashioned. Also it wasn't exactly the most sensible thing to do, considering that Fiona, who has spent two months with Brendan and has been praising him to everyone that asks, is sitting there. It's a fair bet that even if they aren't friends, she at least respects him. It would be like me saying to someone I don't know very well that their friend I don't know either is obnoxious, and expecting them to agree, and doing so in front of thousands of people. I just don't think she was being particularly professional. Just my opinion, though.

I don't think that makes any difference. Presenters often comment on, for instance, actors and other presenters, who are professionals being paid to do a job on tv.

I'm surprised that anyone thinks there's anything inappropriate about it. Of course, it would be odd on some shows for the presenters to make such comments (in the middle of Mastermind, say); but it's not odd on chat shows.

Do you think it's something peculiar to tv presenters? So that breakfast show DJs, for example, could comment on tv professionals but fellow tv professionals shouldn't? Because I seriously don't "get" why anyone would think there's anything unprofessional about it.
