BB production team : lazy, arrogant, amateurish, incompetent.

Well, I just had a nice weekend away from the computer, picking up BB as and when I could, and I wonder if there is any bounds to the production team's stupidity.

1. They worded the 'task' so poorly that the HMs simply didn't seem to realise that they had a choice to refuse it.

2. Then we saw a classic example of weak-teacher bullying against Tim. First, if BB knew (and, face it, BB knows everything) that Tim had hoarded some wine, why not just say so, and tell him to give it back? Why be oblique and patronising, and then up the punishment later - and why, for fkx sake, up that punishment *as soon as* Tim comes in to the DR with a singularly legitimate grievance?

3. What the fck were other people's families doing on individual HM's personal message videos?? Are C4 too lazy to edit videotape, or isn't there anyone working there who can do it?

Tim was absolutely right. This BB thinks it's God, and doesn't seem to understand that if there is indeed a God, he wouldn't need to fck people around to make himself look cool and clever.

Sandy showed the way, by refusing to enter C4 premises for his interview. I hope others follow his example. (Spencer already has, by refusing to cooperate with C4 to the extent that none of his post-eviction interviews were worth broadcasting.)

This BB production team is beneath contempt.

I hadn't really given that much thought before, but you're absolutely right. If this was a task then of course there were two outcomes, a pass or fail. And the fail wouldn't even have affected their shopping budget, which iirc which announced as £400 BEFORE the task.

So they could have simply refused to see any messages and then done nominations as usual - doh!

Precisely.

May I inject a lighter tone into proceedings at this stage by saying how much I like Chunky Kitkats.

you know i was SURE that was the case at the time, i said as much to my girlfriend. the fact that none of the housemates or anyone on here seemed to pick up on it made me believe i was mistaken though. agree with pretty much everything else you said as well

Why thank you. I am sometimes wrong

Also, there's a lot of stuff praising Tim for his Oscar-winning performance, etc. IMHO Tim's tears were totally genuine. Look at it this way :- if you have kids, know kids, or have been a kid, you will know that there is one (and often only one) way to make a kid cry for certain, no matter how strong, level-headed or well-adjusted that kid is, and that is to have him bullied by an adult, in particular a teacher.

There you have it.

And... I wish they'd make Jade eat all those feathers. I'd buy that on video.

I thought it was so obvious, that it wasn't worth mentioning: the HMs may have noticed it but were so desparate to see the vids: can't understand it myself as my family arent particularly interesting, but thats just me.

They (the BB team) also forgot to rule out choice by chance (lottery etc), I think they assumed there would be an interesting debate (given the amount of time allowed)

as i mentioned on the other thread, big brother decided to show everyones family in the video, the only reason tim couldnt see his gf for sure was cause she had her back turned apparantly. surely they could have confirmed if it was her or not for him seeing as EVERYONE else seemed to see all 3 of their friends/families who were present? if they were that concerned with not showing them this they should have recorded the messages more intimately.

Thats a funny thing - I love them as well - But I hate the normal kind. I like to keep them in the fridge to give them a nice brittle feel.

Producers - Arrogant. In How Not to Get Onto Big Brother there weakness to acting lke god was beginning to show. How happy they were to reject people on the basis of jumping over a stick and twenty words. they were lovong it - The power of it all has gobe straight to their heads. They cocked it up anyway and put 10 - 14 wannabes in there.......

OK so apparently Im the only person in the country to be enjoying Big Brother at the moment. They should have had a rule saying no selection by chance but in my opinion that was the only major mistake. Nobody calls for producers of EastEnders to be sacked when storylines dont go the way you want them to. Admittedly there have been blunders but deal with it, if it bothers you dont watch. When the bars went appeared UPROAR... everyone still seems to be hooked.

it seemed like none of them would have watched the vids if theyd known they had a choice though, hence the random picking straws shenanigans.

Yep - where the video editing was concerned, C4 just couldn't be bothered to do their job properly.

Imagine now if Oasis put out a CD with a bit of a Blur track on it, because it was on the tape when they started recording the album and they couldn't be bothered to mix it off.

I made a thread titled "CCTV" several weeks ago complaining about the...well i was going say lacklustre shots of the hm but its a lot worse than that. As soon as PJ got to see their family on video i was like....erm...can i see have a shot of his Sister and Mum please?

It was terrible, there should have been a split screen while they were watching. How wank were the shots of Tim doing the draw for noms tonight? I was hoping to see if he did rig the raffle but the angles AND editing were messed up.

I think BB has now ended for me. PJ goes next week, Alex and Tim up after that with Tim going and then Jonny or Alex wins.

The End.

Im looking forward to the USBB beginning now.

Excuse me? I want to watch BB. More to the point, I want there to be a BB4 to watch. I would like to fondly believe that the incompetence of this year's production team is not sufficient reason for there to be no more BB at all.

Re. EastEnders; actually, they do. And heads do roll (it's happened several times in the last 17 years). Ditto other soaps, when storylines become repetitive or predictable, or characters start behaving inconsistently or out of touch with the ambience of the soap (there's been a bit of this in Easties recently - e.g. you'll have met many 18-year-olds like Zoe Slater in Weybridge or Godalming, but nobody's ever seen one like her in the East End). And way back when Crossroads was just a motorway caff, they ran a storyline which was so unpleasant and amateurishly handled that it actually resulted in the whole soap being killed off for 11 years.

Totally agree Mike, I can't believe what poor quality the "personal" videos were. I could have done much better. Really.

I like BB too: just think (that as someone who IS professional at work) they should be more professional and avoid silly gaffes.
But I agree that sacking the producers is a bit of an over-reaction.

The relationship of producer/show in BB is more like writer/show in eastenders etc. And writers do get "sacked" or not used again. Frequently.

Could it be the same reason the sound gets blanked when the HM's talk about someone (by name) outside the house? Maybe the families didn't give permission for the video messages to be shown on tv.

As I've mentioned before in previous posts, this year's BB production team seem to consist of GNVQ students straight out from Sixth Form college with their freshly pressed Media Studies qualifications tucked into their back pockets.

A young enthusiastic production team can be a good thing provided the head honcho is a solid producer with a wealth of experience and knowledge. However when they did interview the man in charge of the production team in BBLB, he seemed to be one of those middle-aged mid-life crisis sixth form lecturers who hang around the student union in the evening hoping to impress young female first year students.

All-in-all this year's BB looks like some Sixth Form media studies project with it's inexperienced producers trying to keep control whilst dreaming that this is a stepping stone towards fame and fortune.

You can add illiteracy to the list!

What about some of the appalling typos you get on the scrolling E4 BB interactive news.

for example Alex telling the housemates to "[b]air[/B on the side of caution"....

and PJ "preferring to be up for eviction by luck than because of votes from his [b]"piers".

Worse still, they sometimes stay there for hours on end - it can't be that difficult to edit them after the mistake has been spotted can it?

I hope I've spelt this all correctly

You sure Jack? They're totally incompetent.

Whether sacking them before the end of the show would be an over-reaction is a moot point. Whether they should be given a chance to do the next series of BB is, well, a no-brainer.

Tim was crying because he didn't get his way. He's just a big ginger haired suck and it was hilarious to see him cry. I don't believe he was faking his tears. He is a big loser for crying because he didn't get his way.

When the HM entered the house they agreed to abide by the rules and BB could change them at anytime.

They have agreed to go into these conditions. They knew the situation. If they dont like them they shouldn't have gone into the house and let one of the other 100,000 in. So what if BB plays God. Tim was given the chance to be honest. BB was giving him the chance not to be the lying smug person he is. he didn't take it and deserved the treatment he got.

As for seeing family members in the video. That was part of the task. If you didn't volunteer to see your video, then you had to watch waht was shown. Can nobody see that the only winners were the ones that saw the video. If you didnt see your video, there was the chance, like Tim, you could be left wondering about things. That was part of the task.

Whoever defended Sandy for leaving as well. What a load of rubish. he couldn't hack the show and he left.
