Painting a VCR

I wish to paint over an old VCR so it maches the rest of my TV equitment how would I go about this in a safe way as to not break the VCR?

I'd unscrew and remove the case and then spray it with car spray.

you will get a more even coat and it will also stop any damage from paint getting into the components
