What is the difference between English and English for the hearing impared subtitles. I am sure I have seen this on a few titiles. Also why are other counites subtiles just their own lanauage and not for the hearing imparied.

Think the "hard of hearing" subtitles also describe the sound effects, not just the dialogue. Some movies (eg. Downfall) offer this as the only option, most annoying if you have ears but the film dialogue isn't in English.

If you watch "see hear" BBC2 midday.

It does not come with sub-titles(via your remote control)

It comes with in-vision sub-titles(closed caption sub-titles)

Which I think is better, but thats a personall viewpoint as I don't suffer a hearing impedament
