If I hadn't known what was going to happen I would probably have found it very exciting, but having seen the spoilers weeks ago it felt like a bit of a letdown. I wish they would keep important plotline resolutions secret - Emmerdale manage to. The pics of Shaz punching Chrissie were leaked weeks and weeks ago

The only really memorable thing about it for me was Jane kicking Billy in the nuts. Now all she has to do is the same to Phil and she will be my heroine
(NOT that I advocate violence but I will make an exception in that case). I also liked Ian's explanation of what the Vic meant to him, that really rang true for me.
But as for Chrissie's 'escape' - a real let down, none of the tension that there has been in previous episodes. But then since I knew what was going to happen that isn't surprising.”
I saw Rob Gittin's name in the tv times and my heart sank.
However, I agree that it was not as bad as (well, practically all) his previous efforts.
The episode was good, but he really doesn't seem to be able to pace them properly. After the tension of the other day, with Chrissie almost being found out (I could actually feel her tension) it was a bit of a let-down in that respect.
Chrissie is a fantastic character, and although she was written into a hole I think she deserved a better writer for her 'exit.' And it really does come down to who deserves what. After all, she's provided most of the (decent) drama and a lot of the entertainment for this year.
I loved the scenes with Jane standing upto Phil and the rest of the Mitchells - I thought even Beale's kids could have taken out Billy - but kudos to Jane for standing upto them when Ian couldn't.
I knew what was going to happen, but I don't think that really spoilt it for me.
Rob Gittins did.
I should have been biting my nails to the quick, instead I was interested but not thrilled. I should have been able to feel Chrissie's panic as she tried to get the money and escape - but I couldn't.
With a better writer, I know I would have.
It's a shame that EE couldn't have honoured Chrissie with one of the the better writers for her exit episode, as that would have made it fantastic, nail-biting stuff instead of just entertaining.
Don't get me wrong - I did enjoy it. But with a character of Chrissie's stature (she did take out one of soap's greatest-ever characters) it should have been a thrill-a-minute.
Instead, I felt like I'd gone to a fireworks display and they ran out of fireworks after the first 10 minutes.
