Laura Conway has been online.

She has said the negative comments (online) made about the group are extremely upsetting. Please give them a chance because, they are not being allowed to show their true potential.

Laura has asked if people would go on their website, and listen to the songs they have written etc . This should prove they are talented.

I haven't been on there yet, but I will.

Laura has not confirmed or denied, the story about her threats to quit the programme.

I know Laura is only 18, so it must be difficult for her to read some of the comments on here.

2) There were precisely four tuning problems. The surname of each of them was 'Conway'”

I have to agree, if the poor sensitive little souls can't take a bit of an internet bb scorching then they certainly shouldn't be in the music business where they'll hear far worse criticism and from people who actually know them. If you put yourself in the public spotlight then you are going to get public feedback and as yet there is no law that says that feedback has to be favourable...I'm sure Tony Blair is working on it though.

It is quite obvious that Simon favours Journey South though Conway Sisters have been lucky so far to avoid the bottom two.

I've been one of the Conway Sisterzzz (sorry, in deference to Laura, Conway Sisters) biggest critics on here recently so:

1. I don't buy 'the poor Laura's only 18' line. I'm assuming that she wasn't actually frog-marched into the audition by the other three and would be more than happy to take the plaudits from those who like their music. It's a show to discover (allegedly) the best talent so if you put yourself up for it you have to expect criticism from the judges and the public, good or bad. OK, I'm sure it's disappointing to receive negative comments but the phrase 'if you can't stand the heat etc...' comes to mind. If they've had enough I'm sure Philip or 4Tune or several thousand others wouldn't hesitate to take their place.

2. I don't hate the Conways, in fact they seem like a nice bunch of girls. And I'm not going to criticize them based on irrelevant factors like their teeth or where they buy their clothes (don't have a problem with either as it happens). It's just that personally I haven't yet seen any glimpses of talent in their performances that would raise them above an average 'weddings and birthdays' band

3. I'm also not going to knock anyone for liking the Conways - we're all different thank goodness. If you like them I'd encourage you to visit their site and post here as often as you want to give us a balanced view. I've had experience of supporting an 'unpopular' person on one of these shows and sometimes it's depressing because you think you'll be shouted down, but you have to start the ball rolling somewhere

4. I'm still more than willing to give the Conways a chance (I don't think the song choice has helped them at all so far). For example I've radically changed my view on Chico over the past couple of weeks (though I fear he may be going back down in my estimation with 'Hero').

If the Conways give a really good performance I'll be the first to applaud them and the first to come on here and praise them. If they continue to give dull, barely competent performances I'll continue to moan about it.

So come on girls, there's plenty of people still willing to listen. If you're as good as you think you are then prove it on the live show

No they didn't. Chenai gave a good performance on Saturday and it's always a shame when someone goes out on one of their better performances but the fact is she was saved two weeks earlier when she shouldn't have been so, though I like the girl, she shouldn't even have been there this week.

How do you work that one out when Laura hardly opens her mouth during any song?

As it happens, yes I have. Sadly I think the most appealing thing about Phillip is what you see and not what you hear (much better looking than Shayne IMO)

I thought Laura was the one that had a crush on Simon Cowell and was reduced to a jibbering mass of girlish hormone soup at the very mention of his name. Sounds unlikely to me.

Anyway, who cares. They're cannon fodder.

Yep, all the contestants have had harsh things said about them. It's best that they try to ignore the bad comments and concentrate on their music. The press can be far more harsh and unkind than us humble folks on DS!
