These are my thoughts for the moment too, Kewpee. (Except for Shane whom I liked at the beginning but have now gone off).

Mind you, I change my mind from week to week but I've been routing for JS from the start so at least I've been consistent with them.

I absolutely love that song! Reminds me of when I was a kid listening to War of the Worlds on vinyl. I agree - it would be perfect for JS.

I'd agree with all of your comments Kewpee apart from placing Nicholas towards the bottom (not right at the bottom, no-one can be as dire as the Conway Sisterzzz ). He's definitely, as they said in the auditions, got a raw talent, unfortunately after the last two performances I've concluded that it's 'raw' as in raw pork or raw sewage. Probably needed a couple of years experience and vocal training before he came on the show. Think he has potential though.

2. 'Forever Autumn'.... yes, would never have thought of that but I can also see it working really well

3. Not all JS fans appreciate them just for their looks (OK, I do admit that it's a factor in some cases ).

As a non-gay male if it were 'Lust factor' Maria would win easily, but it's 'X Factor'

4. The fact that they're getting a bigger percentage of the ds winner polls every week must say something. I'd say that although others may be technically better they're winning votes through the honesty of their performances, maintaining a constantly high standard and not lapsing into bland middle of the road / R&B lite mush that relies heavily on the quality of the backing arrangements

I think JS also benefit from the fact that they are probably getting a better deal from their mentor than some of the other acts, by virtue of the fact that they are the only decent act Simon has had in his group. They have something that he can work with and is interested in working with. JS are mature enough, experienced enough, and eager enough to work with Simon towards a common goal. And Simon is not greatly distracted by his other acts (or act now), because he knew all along that JS were his one chance of success in this competition.

I'd love to see Journey South win, but I'm not sure they will. The funny part is that I didn't like them at all during boot camp, but they're now my definite favourites.

As a massive JS fan, yes, of course I want them to win. And to be honest, I think they have the most talent in the competition and deserve to be there to the end, even if they are pipped at the post.

They strike me as the type of guys that work for hours and hours on end, getting everything spot on. And, if they keep putting in performances as good as last week, I can't really see anyone beating them.

The other advantage that JS have in this competition is that they have each other for support. They do seem to have a genuinely close and supportive relationship and that must surely help.

But I got the Big Brother winner on BOTH counts!

As for JS winning?

Yes, I think they have every chance of doing so.

This, however, is because they are Middle-Of-The-Road Singers, singing Middle-Of-The-Road Songs, with Middle-Of-The-Road sex appeal to a viewing, mixed aged audience of Middle-Of-The-Road voting people.

They will have "Robson & Jerome" appeal for about two albums before disappearing into next years Xmas bargain bucket.

Average, Bland, Middle-Of-The-Road.

The X factor will never be about finding the UK's most talented singer and will not fail in it's mission to not find one this year either!

I just have a feeling in the pit of my stomach which tells me that JS will be victorius!!!!!

I don't agree with this statement, in a competition where the acts seemed to be forced to do middle of the road material whatever their forte, JS seem to be the one's most successfully breaking the mould.. last weeks performance was the best example of this, a song that has is completely unassociated as being performed by 2 guys and a guitar, no "middle of the road" backing track, just them and the audience, performing the track with authenticity that made it feel "real" unlike the other performers.. they have a handicap in that their mentor is famed for having no imagination and also being responsible for Robson & Jerome. For me the only comparision you can make between the 2 acts is that both acts comprise of 2 good-looking blokes and have an association with Simon Cowell, you can't blame either of these likenesses on JS imo

Sure they have a broad appeal but this, imo, is more down to the fact that they just happen to be very good..

now if we are talking BLAND then look no further than Shayne his favourite drink is BLANDy & Coke and he always flies Virgin cos it's owned by Richard BLANDson

Let's continue this conversation at the same time next year and see how far Tweedle Bland and Tweedle Blander have gone to making a long career in the music industry.

PS - The older one is lustable, but the young one looks like a Gerry Anderson puppet!

Well, I'm not saying that they are guaranteed a long recording career, there are so many factors involved so it's really hit & miss.. I was more arguing against your bland accusation I hope they enjoy some success from all this though I feel they truly warrant and deserve it.

I'll take your word for it on the lustyness side of things

I am not sure about He Aint Heavy for final night.. I think if they got though to the semi finals they should sing it.

I agree that I think there is a market out there for them as long as they are not fed covers to put out.. that would be a HUGE mistake.. they write so let them do their own thing.

I have an gut instinct this is going to be an all male final.

He Aint Heavy is such a predictable song for them to sing, the thing is though I can really imagine them singing that song beautifully, the harmonies not to mention the sentiment would suit them really well..

I think that Journey South could easily make it as a kind of 'lads own' band....guys seem to like them....

I can't agree with that. Simon's great hope was very clearly 4Tune. He almost went as far as saying so in an interview and was very clearly gobsmacked when they were in the bottom two.

I liked all Simon's acts except Addictive Ladies, compared with two of Louis' and two of Sharon's.

If anyone went on any of these talent shows and performed "Forever Autumn" anywhere near to the standard of the original, they would not only have my vote for as long as they were in the competition but a pledge of buying whatever they brought out afterwards. A beautiful song, beautifully sung. Maybe JS could pull it off, who knows?

As far as Maria is concerned, all I can suggest is that you try Dollond & Aitchison.

Thats a double negative.. you liked them all, but in fact you only liked 3...of 4...

Okay.... no I think Simon has known all along who the best in his camp were and they are JS.. the only thing that shocked SC is that the Conways are still there to be honest.

In your very humble opinion, of course.

Or in his stupidity!!!

Forever Autumn is one of my all time fav songs.. but they should look at a Moody Blues song maybe and not just a Justin Hayward one.. but it is lovely.. and yes I have still have the vinyl copy.... David Essex and Sir Richard Burton.. brilliant.

The winner will be the act with the widest appeal, stands to reason. I wouldn't call JS middle of the road though, the songs they've been given have been so, but I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem doing some good rock.
