They AREN'T appearing on the X Factor - the main news on Digitalspy all day has been about them snubbing Simon's dare

Since when have GA had "more success than any all girl group in history"?

"at least top 5" will not be considered a huge achievement. In fact coming almost on the back of a tour it could be considered very disappointing.

Who cares whether it was one, two or all five of them in unison saying what they said. I suppose we can only be disappointed that it was Nicola, one of only two members of the band who can actually sing who expressed these views while the others nodded (or maybe they were miming) and not the usual Tweedy Bird because that would have given us all a good laugh. Churl is one of the few people who have got anywhere in these shows who actually sings worse than Chico.

Girls Aloud are the proof that you don't need talent to suceed - just good promotion and great backing ...

good promo and backing ALONE doesnt get you success though. Rachel stevens has huge backing and promo, yet her last album bombed.

What you need are good (objectivly speaking, ie songs that are commercial and people will buy). Yes promo and backing helps if the songs are good, but a commercial song is essential.

I dont mind GA, I find them entertaining, I love most of their songs, but admit that these songs would probably have been a success whoever sang them. (assuming the promo and backing as well).

There's either a report I haven't seen or some people don't understand that "snubbed" means that they have declined the offer from Simon and will not be appearing on the X factor.
