Cheapest WXVGA plasma?
I'm thinking about getting a panel to replace my current 32" CRT, but don't really want to spend too much.
I noticed most of the cheaper plasmas are only 480p native. What does downscaled 720p/1080i look like on these? The best option, I assume, is to get a WXVGA native plasma? What's the cheapest decent one? Thanks

Even regular non HD output from Sky (576 lines) has to be down-scaled to fit on these screens, losing 20% of picture information. With HD you'll be losing most of the picture information.
Also, most of the screens won't accept 720p/1080i at 50Hz over HDMI, and maybe not even over component inputs. They are cheap because they are not "HD Ready". StooMonster |
