Annoying recording issues with the HXD710
hi guy's had my HXD710 for a few days now and am more than happy with it's performance, however 2 things are bugging a little:
1. if I have a recording from the EPG setup and I'm watching an alternative channel on sky running through Line 3 Scart, when the 710 kicks in and starts the recording it automatically switches which channel is being sent through Line Scart to my TV to the Freeview channel that the recording is being made from, is there anyway to stop this happening, so it records from the built in freeview without interupting what is being watched on the other line. 2. I've tried making a number of recordings from Sky through Line 3 Scart using the Syncro-record feature, I have the Sky programme in the planner setup to autoview on the channel, and the sky box turned to standby. the sky box does indeed turn itself on and switch to the correct channel, but it does not seem to wake up the 710 to start recording, which is set to 'L3' to monitor for signals Funny thing is though, if I have the sky box on standby, and the 710 set to syncro-record and I manually turn the Sky box, the 710 detects the signal and starts recording from Line3, bizzare, what on earth is going on here??, 3. Is it possible to record a channel through Line 3 (Sky) and be watching another channel from the internal feeview tuner, I've been unable to do this so far. oh my sky box is an old Amstrad DXR100 if that helps, and both of my scart cables have a full compliment of pins, so no excuse for the signal not to reach the 710 Thanks |

I believe this is impossible, just like recording through an external input on a VCR and attempting to watch something with the analogue tuner.

thanks chrisy, makes sense now you say it about turning the machine off to standby while timer recording are pending.
I thought it might be the case about the Line 3 recording and watching the freeview feed at the same time, I would have thought Sony might have made this a feature that was possible to do... does anyone know if this can be with the panasonic freeview/HDD model ?? |
