I will still be very surprised if Shayne doesn't win.

Hmmmm....maybe....
But ONLY with original material-if they bought out a covers album then they would be scrap heap material.
I think JS have the male vote in this show....for some reason, guys seem to like them as much as girls. They've got a 'laddish' quality about them and i think they could sell to men which is something talent show acts don't usually manage, so that would be good....they DO need to be recording original stuff though.....

oh god yeah! origonal stuff but who would be managing them?

simon might lead them down some power ballad route!

Don't think Simon will be managing them if they don't win....
I'm a bit worried that they MIGHT go down the 'power ballad' road-in my mind, they should be doing acoustic rock. That kind of thing is sooooo popular at the moment.....

oh definately!!

i think the public are getting sick of manufactured boybands and sickly sweet pop music!

i do think pop-rock is making a comeback

Absolutely! Just look at the popularity of arists such as Damien Rice, James Blunt and Daniel Powter. If you were to combine that type of acoustic sound with rock harmonies, Journey South would have their own sound! There aren't many duos around at the moment either, so if it's approached the right way, i believe JS could make a career for themselves.....

It could well be JS. If they get into the final two with Shayne and they are considered the underdogs in the press, the British public are inclined to get behind the underdog. And JS have 4 legs between them which is more like a dog......no, I've no idea where I'm going with that one.

I don't think JS ARE the underdog....i just think we are lead to believe Shayne is most popular because the program makers want him to win!!!
IMO, JS are the most popular act.....

You KNOW it makes sense!!!!
I don't want them to win actually-i think they'd stand a much better chance of recording a decent album if they came 3rd or 4th.....

final

Shayne vs anyone

- I'd vote ''anyone'' - even Chico

I dont think Shayne should win just because he ''looks the part'' - his act and *ahem* talent are nothing attention grabbing.

if he were in the final , and going head to head with Journey South - I think they'd blow him right off the stage

I feel this thread has strayed from the point. What was it again?

OK, so the plan is that as soon as JS get into the final 4, all their fans stop voting for them and wait for a decent record to appear. Right, do you want to mention this in the JS appreciation thread or will I? I'm 100% behind you.....by about 8000 miles in my villa in California driving a very nice Aston Martin.

Has anyone thought that nobody might win? The government is unstable and days before the X Factor final there is a communist coo (led my pigeons) and they declare the X Factor null and void as a capitalist indulgence, plus nobody should be considered better than anyone else anyway. The Conway Sisters go back to Ireland and win the Irish version of the X Factor.

I think it'll be Journey South and Shayne/Andy in the final... and JS will win.
