I’d also like to know. I moderate on other boards and always try to leave an explanation when closing a thread unlike the mysterious way in which JPV was closed.

Pretty harsh to close a completely harmless thread. Maybe some of the moderators are being paid off by channel 4 in order to raise Jades public profile.

The reason it was closed is because it served no purpose. It was a thread about nothing.

Under that criteria I could give you another 20 threads that need closing.

I want to know why MY thread was closed: we were talking about something RELATED to BB after all, testing something that Alex said.

The forum is getting very difficult to read due to the number of threads that wander off topic or even start off being unrelated to Big Brother.

Just trying to have a bit of a clear up to make it easier for everyone.

Feel free to start up a similar thread in General Discussion. The thread in question had served it's initial purpose and seemed to be free wheeling all over the place. This forum is about Big Brother. If you want to continue the thread, email or PM one of the Mods, asking it to be renamed and moved to the GD forum where it can continue.

With respect, I’ve reported some posts this last week and no action was taken. I’ve been called an imbecile by a poster and yet nothing happened after I reported it.

I still haven’t heard a satisfactory explanation for the closure of my thread, which when you consider that "If housemates were biscuits, which ones would they be" remains open (no offence to that thread starter but I am merely illustrating that another light-hearted post remains while mine does not).

Additionally I am not a Moderator on this board and have no wish to make myself unpopular by "grassing" up loads of threads.

what about the I hate jonny petition thread? surely under the T&C's this can be deemed offensive/homophobic/discriminatory!
I dotn mind people having an opinion but to actually encourage others to hate an individual surely contravenes T&C's?

I've modded on other Net boards and its not easy to get the balance right.

On a board as popular as DS with the rapidity of postings and the full spread of posters - from the sublime to the downright offensive - the DS Mods have a difficult job to do to prevent the whole thing spiralling out of control.

I actually think they get the balance right
