I come to bury Shayne, not to praise him...

So! How fickle are the X-Factor forum members and their shift from supporting Shayne to an all out witch-hunt, without him doing anything vaguely vile?

I still like him, I haven't changed my mind. JS are my favourite but Shayne is a close second. He's not my usual cup of tea, but he can certainly sing, with the right material he could make me tingle.

Speaking for myself i've never been a big fan of Shayne. My opinion I base on individual performances. He impressed me the week sang Daniel Bedingfield but all his other performance have been average at best.

He may be goodlooking but he is also arrogant, bland and boring.

Double-ditto

(except for the Bedingfield part - I thought his performance sucked only marginally more than Bedingfield's own.)

I think Shayne is a cut out figure from the back of a Weetabix box.....

I haven't changed my opinion of Shayne.

I haven't thought much of him from the start.

Shayne has a ok voice but what really annoys me is his lack luster performances. I thought he had A LOT of potential in the auditions but he is so dull on the live shows. He has had enough weeks to change my mind.

This is not a witch hunt.

Trust me if he does a really good performance I would be the first to praise him on this forum.

I've never really liked him, and I just can't see the appeal to him.

But, if did put in a really good performance, I would have no trouble in saying so. I really didn't like Maria before last week, but her performance on Saturday really blew me away the more I watched it.

Sadly, I don't think Shayne's really had a good performance. He's convinced he has a falsetto voice, and is trying to recreate his 2nd week performance, which IMO, wasn't that great.

I'm not a fan of his personality either. When Simon was prasing him for the Daniel Bedingfield song, Shayne said 'your criticisms only make me better'. Yet, in Week 3, when Simon said he didn't like it, he got all defensive and started biting back. Not good.

Its always the same with this forum - someone is generally popular therefore has to be destroyed. Anyone vaguely nice gets it in the neck for being just that - nice.

My mother-in-law is a member of the women's institute - she happens to like Chico and thinks JS are two lovely boys and votes for both acts every week.

My father-in-law on the otherhand - who isn't a member of the women's institute - they wouldn't have him apparently - votes for Andy and Brenda - as Andy is a good solid sensible chap, and Brenda has some rather large assets - Mind you neither of them have bought a record since 1962.

I seem to remember that it always the nice people that win these shows e.g Steve Brookstein, Will Young, David Sneddon (fame academy).

I think that Shayne is being hyped up so much that people expect something great and are amazed when he doesn't do a good performance and STILL gets hyped as being the speculated winner.

I like Shayne I think he is a very good singer. I don't see the arrogance that other people see I think he's as anxious as the next contestant.

I think it goes against him that the judges (especially Sharon) like him, and that he is good looking.

I thought Shayne would win til the last couple of weeks when to be honest he has not done anything that stood out.. other than try to sing a Simply Red song BADLY in my opinion... He needs the right song.. the Summer of 69 is an excellent song but you can't just stand there like a moron and sing it.. you have to move .. he did not move me or his own butt. Will he win.. who knows.. and as for Womens Institute.. get real youngsters are backing Journey South.. I should know I have a site for them... and NO I am not a youngster.

Considering the average age of members of Steve's site, I doubt it.

There is an artist however who has a lot of "mature" ladies on their site and many of them seem to like Shayne.
