The Mirror quotes a racist joke told by him to horrified HMs (except PJ of course) and is going to be/has been hauled over the carpet for it.

It was in todays Mirror - did anybody actually see this as apparently it was not edited out.

Yes, it went out.

Thoroughly disgraceful and should have earned some sort of reprimand
but I guess that’s what he’s now getting in the public arena.

I'm surprised he wasn't more careful. Obviously, Alison, Lee, and Adele are all gone, but Jade is still in the house.... Unless he *wanted* to provoke her cf the varuca argument....

I missed Tim's 'joke', or didn't hear it properly, something about, 'What's transparent and lies in the gutter? Something something with the shit kicked out of it.'

What people seem to have missed in the papers (and which the C4 site deliberately ignored) is that PJ was also saying, eagerly, 'I've got some racist jokes!' but then backtracked when Jonny gave him a stony glare.

IMHO Tim is a total tw*t whho should be booted out of the house.

While I am in no way defending Tim and any racist jokes he may have made, surely it's Channel 4's responsibilty to make sure that anything offensive is edited out of transmission. They certainly manage to edit out plenty of perfectly inoffensive stuff.

What a fool for
a) being racist in the first place
and b) clearly showing that he is racist on what is basically a popularity game show.

I think the "eagerly" is your emphasis. PJ said he "knew" some racist jokes, but then most people do - an unfortunate by-product of growing up throughout the 70s in my case, but nevertheless it does not mean he is a racist - An important distinction.

I had no intention of repeating the actual remark, I simply said what I'd heard in case some people didn't believe the creepy fool said it in the first place. What gets me is PJ hasn't been pilloried before as well for his behaviour when he said he wanted to abuse women after getting out, and now the ammunition is clearly there the papers only went for Tim? What is going on?

*** Oh, having just seen the Mirror piece they have picked up on PJ - who had eagerness in his voice, and would gladly have carried on, there was no mistaking that.

Sadly his plans for abusing after BB3 still go unreported. At least it seems unlilely his legal career is going to reach great heights - would anyone sensible want him representing them? - which is a blessing.

Umm...err...

I thought the whole point of "Big Brother" was that it becomes a window into the lives of other people, so that you can observe how people thrown in an manipulated to some degree interact and get along without outside contact, limited entertainment, and the like. There is no editing "responsibility" -- in fact, such a thing would be irresponsible to the whole concept.

Anything that Tim says clearly reflect badly on Tim himself, not on Channel 4 as a network (live reality show, not editorial stance, blah blah).

And I thought you folks called us Americans overly sensitve. jeesh.

Question number two... read the "joke" in question and it seems to refer to a nationality, not a race. Not sure how this constitutes "racism" then.

I hope that when they get Tim in the diary room to tell him about his behavuiour that they show it in the highlights, in case anyone missed it, just to emphasise what he is like. Having broadcast his foul joke they have no justification in not showing his being yold off, because there may be some people who would vote for him, but certainly wouldn't had they seen this.

Quote from Mirror

"PJ, 23, who had just boasted he knew some racist jokes but did not want to tell them, could also face discipline for sniggering at Tim's effort."

PJ has shown in many ways what an unpleasant person he is. Hopefully this will convince people as who has to leave this week.

OMG like none of you have ever heard or laughed at a racist joke.

I am not a racist, but some jokes are funny. As long they are just jokes.
I mean, there are some hilarious "Irishman" jokes etc.

Tim was an idiot before this, and still is.

While it is a window into people's lives, Channel 4 do have a self-confessed responsibilty as broadcasters for making sure that anything offensive is not transmitted. Hence the fact that "Channel 4 is also investigating how the gaffe was not edited out by lawyers who monitor the show 24 hours a day to keep out offensive material."
There are still rules about what can be broadcast and when, even on a live "reality" gameshow.

It was a pretty violent racist joke, making fun of someone who is "kicked in" isn't very funny no matter what colour they are.

In what way is Tim's joke funny? And I use the term joke loosely.

I am not saying HIS joke was funny. It was crap, something a 7 year old may think funny.

I am just saying all you lot are jumping on your high horses

Bet he wouldn't have said it if Sunita were in the house.

I've laughed at racist jokes before don't get me wrong, but saying things like that on national TV is very wrong.

If you choose to go around telling racists jokes then good for you. Personally I don't tell racist jokes so I'm not getting on my high horse. Not everyone thinks racist jokes are funny believe it or not.

First thing of note he's done since arriving at the house (if you exclude the ridiculous hair care routine). He's probably worried we'd forgotten who he was. Probably Tim's idea of rough housing with the working claaaaaasses.
