...why do you like him? I'm not meaning to be unkind but he seems to have nothing going for him whatsoever. Please explain the appeal......

Yes, I'd like to know too.

In fact, I can see why young girls like him. But, to me, his looks are very average, and his voice is below average.

well i did like him a lot after his daniel bedingfield performance.
But since that his performances has bored me a bit, not to mention his arrogance 2 weeks ago.
He needs a modern song and he needs to come across as humble.

Can't be bothered to justify my choices - and don't see why I should. Taste is taste at the end of the day. That's like asking why someone likes marmite - you either do or you don't.

Totally agree with you. I would like to ask the same question to the fans of other acts. Of course I am far too polite to start a thread about it.

Because I like the sound of his voice, have done since his very first audition, and I do find him very attractive. He has lovely eyes and a beautiful smile. I think he would sell records.

I'm not sure.........I don't know if I would buy his records, but if he came on the radio or tv I for one wouldn't switch him off!! But, I think everyone better get used to him because I think after the X Factor, Louis Walsh and his cronies are going to be shoving Shayne down our throats.....

That is actually a compliment as although David isn't necessarily blessed in the brain department - he has pretty nifty footwork - if Shayne is as good at his craft as David is at his - then there is nothing really to complain about.

At the moment I think he's a 1.5 minute wonder. I watch XF with my daughters - teenies - Shayne's number one target audience. They love him (today) but I don't think he's got what it takes to last more than a few weeks after XF ends - assuming he wins, or gets close! This is a pity. Even my girls have gone off him a bit in the last few weeks. Bearing in mind those with REAL talent (charisma, originality, voice quality, originality of composition) would probably not go on X factor anyway, the ones who do MUST DAZZLE and show the range of what they can do. Shayne - you don't!!

He wins the votes of the 12 - 16 age group because he's quite pretty. Who would disagree - but that's only the start. Sadly Shayne seems to think this is enough

Shayne - message for you. You seem a fairly OK guy from a background which deserves a break - BUT get some help with songs, image and personality. And please DO NOT REHEARSE ANSWERS. Respond, and listen, to what the judges (Simon - only real judge) says.

A singing David Beckham.. NO that is Carl of Journey South.. he even looks like David when his hair was longer.. so think you have them muddled up myself.. I like Shayne but I think iin the past two weeks he has been boring, the songs have been wrong. especially Simply Red as he did not do it like the Stylistics.. you cannot attempt Mick Hucknall unless you are truly brilliant or maybe he was just plain stupid... Daniel B I thought he did the song well.. but I have yet to see the real Shayne I think.. now I get Justin T.. oh please... he was the winner everyone said it.. SORRY I think they may have been a little premature... told you the bookies NEVER get it right.. seems they may have done it again.. I think it will be Andy or Journey South now.. or maybe Maria..

I am not into looks I am into MUSIC... to listen to

Did I imagine it? Is Shayne totally crap at answering questions/comments? Does he listen?? Seems simple - questions - answer, basically hitting topic of question. Can't seem to do it.

Sorry - this is really bugging me.

He good looking. He can sing. He's from Manchester.

You can't really improve on that can you?

I quite like him but not to the extent that the judges seem to think I should. Not sure whether it is bad song choices or just apathy on Shayne's part but he hasn't really blown me away yet. He relies too much on falsetto and his natural voice is pretty average. He is the best in Louis' group but definitely not the best there.

I was actually talking about him sounding a little camp when he spoke (think a poster up there mentioned it too)

Don't get me wrong I think he's great (his sister is a member of our site, she's also lovely).

Now Louis's steering him towards the Justin Timberlake route he'll surely walk it.
