Why do all the acts want Andy to win?

What is it about Andy that has made him so popular with the acts that have left.
Philip wants him to win (despite being best mates with Shayne)
4 tune said they wanted and to win
Chenai said she wants Andy (or Shayne) to win.

I always thought Andy came across as quite smug but maybe hes nicer than i initially thought.

hmm, not watched much of the 24/7 or xtra factor so maybe i'm not too good to comment but he is quite a genuine down to earth guy from what i have seen.. and he can sing which is a benefit

He doesn't come across as at all smug to me, he comes across as a mature guy who is comfortable with himself. The other acts have mentioned that Andy is the Daddy of the house, I get the impression they all like and respect him.

I see Andy as over-confident and slightly smug. I don't buy the 'poor old binman' sob story and he's certainly not a great singer... good maybe, slightly better than Nicholas IMO.

I think they respect and look up to Andy.. unlike Brenda and Maria who Chenai had a falling out with. AND as you are only quoting the ones leaving your subject line is a little wrong they are not ALL saying it.

Oh, please His great voice is the one thing he does have going for him (and the binman story if you fall for that sort of thing). It's certainly not personality, charisma or stage presence.

And "slightly better than Nicholas" is very good indeed IMO.

Probably because they've all been told to like him

Perhaps it's easier to accept defeat if the winner is not in the same bracket as you? (I just wasn't what they were looking for.) On the other hand, he seems like a nice enough guy to me.

it is probably a safe beat to say you are supporitng someone who won't win.

going by the ratings on this board, he has very little support!!

DS polls are famous for getting it wrong

It's not that...it's just that these people don't feel threatened by Bl-andy.......

I know that Chenai has said that she wants Andy or Shayne to win and she also made reference to the fact that a few of the older contestants are not what they seem and their true colours are starting to show. Then again, I did read this in the Daily Star.
Andy is a safe choice I expect. Doesnt do a lot for me though.

It'll be two reasons

1. He's one of the strongest singers in the competition, definitely the strongest male.

2. They like him as a person.

Put the two together, and he's easy to back.
