Now that is just pathetic isn't it. They are actually gonna try and make him sing a JT song.

He's gonna do a poor imitation, he has a fraction of Justin's talent. I'm gonna be laughing on Saturday, talk about car crash television.

I hate this song and I really don't want to hear Shayne singing falsetto again

Even he won't, he probably's deluded himself into thinking record executives are gonna be fighting over him. Yes they will Shayne, when you're serving them muffins and tea as your new job starts as Office Tea Boy/Janitor.

Bwah ha ha ha

Oh dear this whole site seems to be gettiing into the lets BASH who next.. not very nice when you have not even heard him sing it yet. I wonder who you are supporting.. lets him them sing shall we.. then make our judgements as he pulled off Daniel B very well. shame he then had two poor weeks, but hey some in there cannot even sing in tune.

No, that's not it at all...
I've never rated Shayne. I don't think he's talented at all and i don't believe he deserves to be in the final 12.
Just my opinion

Did everyone slag him off when they found out his song 'choice' was Daniel Bedingfield? I don't think I was a member of DS then

Which you have stated time and time again.
Shayne might not be everyones cup of tea but there is no doubt that he will sell records in my opinion. I will be commenting about his song after I hear his performance.

Ok, my dislike of shayne is obvious.....
I'm pretty certain he wouldn't sell records though...
I think out of all of the finalists i reckon that only Journey South and maybe Nicholas could shift records....and that would only happen if they had solid original material.
I don't slate Shayne just for the sake of it-i truly think he's talentless....

Which is your opinion. There are many who dont feel the same as there are those who do. The only way I see Nicholas selling records is possibly when he is working for HMV behind the counter.

And you are probably right but i think he stands a better chance than Shayne.
Of course not everybody is going to agree with my feelings on Shayne which is why i post here....it's interesting to hear what Shayne fans have to say

Of course! The problem is that nobody has managed to provide me with a decent argument as to why Shayne is good other than 'he's got a good voice' which doesn't tell me much!
Truly, i'm not trying to offend anybody...i GENUINELY can't see it, that's all....

Well maybe the fact that out of all the singers he would be the one that was the easiest to market particularly to the young who buy the all important magazines and posters and other souvenir junk. Magazines have already fallen over themselves to feature him simply because he has the 'look' of a popstar and a great voice in my opinion. It may seem unfair to some of the other singers but it is already prove positive when Shayne is featured in most of the teen magazines and older ones too - i.e Heat. These are the magazines that will continue to cover the singer who wins the competition and it is important to have them onside at the start. If Shayne is talented enough and has the right material he can last longer than a year which is what most of these acts can hope to last anyway these days.
Louis Walsh is also the best person to have as a manager out of the three judges. His success with G4 is prove of this. He may not be a great judge of songchoice but he works hard for his acts after the series is over and is great at getting them the publicity that is needed.
Probably still not answered your question but are there any real answers when it might just be that Shayne, or whoever, is simply the person that a particular fan likes for any number of ridiculous reasons?

Great response
I'm sure that Shayne IS magazine friendly but i don't think there is room in the chart for a male pop artist REGARDLESS of quality. There are so many who are not very sucessful anymore (Darren Hayes, Ben Adams,Rob Thomas) because it's not what people want anymore. I think only well established pop males such as Robbie will have ongoing future success. People want r n b, rap and indie bands at the mo.....

Before you get too complacent, Shayne's tuning is hardly perfect! I've yet to hear a totally convincing performance from him, though I do like his voice (when he's not singing falsetto).

With the right songs Shayne could be huge. I didnt rate Girls Aloud at all but Louis had a great team of writers at his disposal and they have produced some great pop songs. I have a feeling Pop music is due a revival very soon anyway. Btw I think you will find that Rob Thomas enjoys huge success in America.

I think that Shayne does deserve to be in the final 12, but to be honest, I think that he should have been the second act voted out. Although Philip gave quite a few bad performances, I think that he had much more potential then Shayne, but he just wasn't given the right songs to sing. I think that Shayne's voice is just pretty average and I don't really think it stands out.

Yes, you are right-Rob Thomas is huge in the states.
The British record buying public just don't seem to be buying much pop at the moment. I think Girls Aloud have been very lucky. They've benefitted from some great material. I'd love there to be a pop revival...! That would be fab! Give me cheesy over 'cool' anyday.....
I think the only way Shayne could get in the current charts would be with really strong pop material or as a rap/r n b artist...it'll be tough.

I dont doubt it and I am the first to admit that Shayne has been coasting for a couple of weeks though his songs have left a lot to be desired. I just think that the best is yet to come from him. But being a fan I would say that. Knowing Louis, he will have a few aces up his sleeves. The question though is - Does Louis really want Shayne to win the competition when it might be better not to?

That's a very good point....unless he or whoever has got an album of astonishing quality for Shayne at the other end. I will be surprised if shayne makes it but then i'll let you do the 'I Told You So' bit!!!
I just don't like his voice much and i really don't warm to him as a person. I've made my point....i'll leave him alone now unless i have something really constructive to say!
FTR, i don't much like Andy either

I reserve judgement until I hear him sing on saturday .

As for comparing Shayne to JustinT it was Sharon who made that comparison not Shayne himself, so is it fair to blame him?

Well, I'll still be supporting Shayne (and Chico!). He's been given some abysmal songs to sing by Louis Walsh, but has pulled them off. I'd like to see Shayne sing something more modern like Robbie. I think Louis' poor song choices have put some people off Shayne.
