Interesting point this. If it really was JUST about the Saturday show, for the 12 weeks or however long including auditions, would it be such great TV? If you didn't think your favourite was in with a chance of an album, recording contract, career, whatever, would you be so interested?
Could that be why voting is down? Any number of threads have asked "where are they now?" about former winners, so if we don't believe in the dream, what's left? You're right - all that's left is the show. Enjoy it while we can.
Back to the topic - no I don't think Brenda is particularly underrated. I think the judges have given her a fair critique and she's done some good numbers, admittedly a bit samey. I also think she's starting to believe in herself a bit more now (they all are, really, and why not? They've made the final eight) which some people interpret as arrogance but I see as just a natural progression. Everyone knows I like Brenda, but I'm beginning to think Journey South have a better chance of long-term success, purely because they are a bit different and more versatile.
