First off can I just say that Jonny isn't my favourite HM, but I'm staggered by the amount of criticism, mostly unwarranted, that he receives on here. Some examples,

1. Playing to the camera.

This one is the no1 that they all go for but when asked for an example no-one seems to know of any. Basically an unsubstantiated myth. Jonny fools around = playing to the camera, Alex fools around = comic genius.

2. Basketball task.

Accused of cheating by Spencer which has stuck. NOT true. Spencer wrecked the running order he himself had devised. He had arranged 2 groups of 3. Spencer, Alex and Lee in group 1. Jonny, Sandy and PJ in group 2. When Sandy went forward to take the first shot PJ said "Errrr, Sandy...." only for Spencer to butt in saying "no, its OK leave him". From then on the running order went correctly and Jonny went in his correct place. Tough shit on Spencer, dug his own grave but didn't want to lie in it.

3. Being a proffesional BB contestant.

He's the only one thats admitted it, but c'mon, they all knew about the show and knew the format. Adele had never seen the show this time last week, now she knows all about Nasty Nick. Funny, I haven't seen any mention of BB1 repeats in the Radio Times. And if Jonny has knowledge of the previous series, big deal. You wouldn't sit an exam without revising or a driving test without lessons, would you?

4. The Message Task.

Apparently, PJ and Kate didn't hear a word of their messages as Jonny was pointing out his family. Bollocks. Alex and Tim were doing just the same thing, only Jonny did it at the start of the tape while the other 2 did it during.

5. Woman-Hater.

Some no-brainer earlier branded him a woman-hater giving a reason that there was no electricity between him and the female HM's, the no-mark then went on to hold up Alex and Lee as shining examples. Alex to my knowledge has reduced both Kate and Jade to tears, while Lee was all over both Adele and Sophie to the dismay of his girlfriend. Jonny on the other hand said on the application that he was NOT looking for romance in the house, is obviously 100% faithful to his girlfriend and of the females HM's Sunita, Alison and Sophie spoke glowingly of him after eviction and Kate will do the same.

The only complaint I have with Jonny is the constant references to his family coming down on eviction night. Apart from that he is down to earth, witty, honest, caring and above all genuine. Unlike other HM's he hasn't been unfaithful, moved in on other HM's knowing they have a partner, reduced anyone to tears, threatened someone with violence, shunned anyone, been abusive or been racist.

So come on, give Jonny a break and show him some support. He's one of the good guys..........

Without any disrespect to Dr Mick, it really doesn't take much to reduce Kate to tears.

This past weekend's bitching between the pro-Alex vs. pro-Jonny camps are doing their housemates no favours. I am finding it very tedious reading their comments and threads.

I agree apart from the basketball part, Spencer thought he was cheating because his foot was over the line, not because of the running order.

How people can find Alex (catalouge man) entertaining, beats me. Alex reminds me of the Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse.s version of 'Old Gits' I can picture him being just like them when he's older....bitter and miserable

it seems to b your only defence. each time someone says something negative about jonny, u accuse them of beeing alex fan...

I prefer alex to jonny, but am no fan, I just look at them and alex annoys me less... one of the reason I suppose is Jonny not understanding why everyone doesnt like him... as PJ (and dont like PJ much) said last night... so what alex doesnt get on with Jonny get over it... I do as well notice that Jonny does try and join in permenently as soon as other housemate are having fun without him... Basically, I FEEL he tries to hard...

I laugh at things that Jonny does with kate, I do think they are "entertaining" from a visual point of view, but never find what they say funny. I find things that alex say funny... (little things like the chicken drying in the diary room comes to mind)

I like jonny although i want kate to win. I dont think there's any harm in him and he seems like a fun easy going guy.

I think that he gets more stick than he deserves on this forum and i dont think that he has been particularly nasty to anyone in the show.

I also think that he is one of the good guys.

After stumbling from the pub i checked to see peoples views about the task

Nearly every post was slagging of Johnny about talking and ruining it for everyone when the videos were on

I decided to investigate further thinking Narrrrrrrrrrrrr not Johnny

Anyway i watched the task on sunday and i can't understand what everyone one was moaning about. He spoke twice and only because he saw his parents, which i think everybody did. C'mon they haven't seen their families for months they are gonna get excited especially Johnny who's familiy have and friends have been going down each and every week to show support. And he was giving support to Kate, so why was he being selfish????

I think we are starting to nip pick at silly observations and blowing them out of proportion
