I think it's an established fact that bullies only bully because of the lack of control or security in their own lives. As Jade was a childhood carer - I'd say she's a classic case.
Jade made up and hugged the girl in question and undertook psychotherapy to help her with the way she deal with people. Thats takes some strength of charactor, especially as Jade was only a young teenager at the time.
I'm not taking anything away from bullying as I'm sure we've all been bullied by someone at sometime. But I think we should have a better understanding of the whole bullying issue as it is much deeper than it seems. ”
I'm really going to stick my neck out here, hope I don't get my head sliced off.
Emzi, have you ever been on the end of a sustained bullying campaign? (I ask that not because I want to be able to say ner-ne-ner-ne ner-ner(!) but because I am interested.) Do you have children and if so have they ever been bullied? My daughter has been bullied a lot lately, nothing violent, just snidey stuff, whispering behind her back etc It has made her deperately unhappy. Yeah, the bully was made to aplogise, but that doesn't really help.
As for Jade's psychotherapy, she still bullied Sophie and again, I don't feel that so called apology was anything like enough. After all poor Sophie ended up apologising to her! Pretty nifty bit of work by Jade.
I don't expect to change your mind, it would be arrogant of me to try, but please try and think about those who have been badly bullied etc and spare some of your sympathy for them.

Sorry, bit pompous and went on a bit
