I notice that it records the information for each programme that happens to be included in the recording. So for example my scheduled recording ran 10 minutes late so had the previous programme for the first ten minutes during playback. Pressing i while each of the prgrammes on the recording is playing gives its own corresponding information.

I think that's because it records those parts of the transport stream - therefore when the programme is running late the EPG and now & next info will have swapped over at the published time, thus giving information for both.

I realised only recently that the i button woks for any programme in the EPG.
Press "guide". Highlight any programme in the EPG you are interested in, and press i.
A description of the programme will pop up on the screen.

I use this feature a lot, and thanks to the previous poster for letting me know how to access "i"nformation on recorded programmes.

My wish was for this to also be available on the "recorded programmes" menu, so I can see *which* episode of Time Team I recorded for my wife

Some more for consideration

* Direct recording of radio programmes into MP3

Ok, it's easy enough to convert them after transfer, but anything that cuts out a step that could be removed would be appreciated.

* USB/Ethernet on the rear of the box.

It's an annoyance to have to keep plugging the cable in at the front and 'spoiling the look' of the box. If I could just plug in in the rear I could leave it there all the time.

The hummy has changed the way my husband and I watch TV forever. It has been a real trooper over the months but I would dearly love to have these benefits.

50 timers

automatically insert and extra 5 minutes to the beginning and the end of a schedule recording.

remote control buttons as shortcuts to move around the guide

increase the number of channels displayed in the guide

remove channels from the guide that we rarely use.

The USB socket obviously can't be moved by a software update nor can Ethernet be added - but a good idea for the Humax PVR9300T - but the other point appears to be manageable on the PC end - if the eLinker software could convert to MP3 and fulfill windows naming conventions (as well as error correction if possible) then USB connection would be much easier to use, without a need for any change to the box. The issue is automation not whether it's done by the box or by the eLinker software.

Already possible -
1) create a favorites list in Menu>channels as per manual
2) press list then right then go to favorites lists then select your list with OK, press left to get back to the just showing the channel list and then OK will set that list for the guide and ch +/- buttons.

However if you go onto news multiscreen, a BBCi video-stream or the Teletext Holidays/Cars option from normal teletext (ie an interactive service hops to a channel number) you have to repeat step 2.

This also allows you to get radio channels from their channel number without having to press TV/Radio.

My top 5

1) Auto Pad w/o altering program guide info
2) Ability to play DivX files
3) Faster USB-2 connection
4) PDC like functionality - if programme is late or delayed you get what you wanted and not the snooker!
5) Sort out those hangs when left on ITV1

1. Be able to order list of recorded programmes by name as well as date (the library function on my Panasonic VCR does this!) and/or extend the find functionality to include recorded programmes
2. Allow direct control of TV volume from PVR remote (as per FOX-2T)
3. Allow recorded programmes to be deleted directly from quick list rather than having to go through the menu
4. Be able to see the information about a recording without actually having to start the programme
5. Be able to request that all occurences of a programme are recorded (by programme name, possibly plus time slot to avoid recording multiple showings of the same episode)

Dont worry if its the same as others, just get it down and then we can see what the common top 5 ones are!

If you have a whole load of suggestions please see the main Wish List thread here

The top 5 items from everyone can be categarised and summarised every now and then.

A new thread like this can be started following the next update, as there may be wish list items that become extinct!”

1. Auto padding start and end.
2. Keep the name of program in the schedule and after recording no matter how its edited.
3. Retain epg when in standby.
4. Increase number of programs that can be scheduled.
5. Record radio from standby

I would settle for 1 and 2 if nothing else.

I agree with all of above (especially Rayon #24)

Plus:

- No Gaps between MP3 Tracks. I like to listen to audio books and the 1 to 2 second gap between tracks is very annoying.
- Better jpeg image quality. My mother-in-law likes to look at pictures of our little boy, but the picture quality is appalling, much worse than video stills or the EPG etc. Why? I have tried 720 X 576 at different colour depths (8, 16 and 24 bit) and they just look bad.

Other than that, an excellent box. Thanks

I haven't had my system for a week yet. So far so good but I would like to see the following:

(1) Configurable Autopadding
(2) Chase play on recording programme
(3) Increase 20 timer limit
(4) Keyword search for automatic recording/season link/passport
(5) Faster EPG/save to disk

My Humax wish list (in no particular order):

1. PiP and Radio/TV toggle buttons to use favourites lists - these buttons are of little use to me at present as they default to all channels

2. Show channel name and info for PiP somehow

3. Retain sound from the current channel when in the menus

4. Play button as default when pressing OK on a programme in the recorded programmes list

5. Chase Play

6. Merge recorded programmes. Would be useful for combining music videos into one recording, or could be used for combining short programmes such as cartoons, or for combining films that are sandwiched around the News.

I love my Humax, however, and these are nice-to-haves.

1. Not losing the name of the programme when a recording schedule is converted to weekly
2. Auto padding
3. OK should equal play full screen instead of Delete on recording schedule
4. Use standard mpeg format not mpeg-ts which few programs understand- or provide converters / plugins for Adobe Permier Pro / Encore
5. Store EPG when turned off.

I think top of my wish list now is the actual update itself!

A tip for programmes that are sandwiched for whatever reason is to set the start time to part one start and the end time to after part 2 and edit out the news or whatever.

Does anyone have an inkling as to when Humax will be bold enough to update the software?

If there's any scope for the forthcoming update, one thing I would like is to be able to switch off that infernal message that says it is about to start a scheduled recording. It's not what you want half way through transferring a recording to a DVD, really, is it!? Yet another coaster. What's worse still is to have deleted the original recording and discover that flippin' message later so one cannot have a second attempt, but it shouldn't be necessary in any event.

Should I be playing back a recording for visitors, why should I want to announce I am about to start recording something? It's great that it will playback and record at the same time and maybe Humax think it's cool to advertise that feature this way. But to be honest, for me it's the one thing that could make me take the infernal thing down to the coast and throw it off a cliff!

Remembering the position in EACH recording and not resetting to the beginning if you watch another recording before finishing the 1st one!

The 8000T doesn't but I'm pretty sure the 9200T does, however it only takes an instant to get it to any point in a recording on the 9200T where with the 8000T is a right old fiddle. One up to the 9200T this time.

Nearly four months now and still no update. Another month and it'll go back for a refund unless big fixes have arrived. After six months I have to prove it is fauly, up to then the store does. If in the future Humax eventually get it right, maybe I'll get another one, or if they cannot let's hope someone else has been more successful.

My 9200t does this already. Have you updated the firmware?

Mine already does this. And I'm on the old software.

Ditto. It's one of the features I have particularly been pleased with as I often watch a film in 20 minute bursts over a week or so.

My votes go to:
1) Save EPG to disk
2) Proper chase play
3) >20 (preferably unlimited) timers
4) Deleting recordings from the playlist menu
