I believe 4 and 6 may be a possibility on freeview during the year, which potentially means manufacturers could release software updates for their PVRs to make use of it. Number 2 is probably a feature and depends how the tuners happen to be asigned at the time - hense why it can happen and sometimes it doesnt. But if the similar Toppy doesnt do this then its likely this is something that can change I'm hoping. I used to think it was the onscreen message that was doing it - which I dont need - but when the tuners dont have to be re-jigged for a new recording themessage comes up but with no split second picture or sound blackout.

4-Weekday option in repeat recording list

5-X32 function as X16 is too slow and X64 too fast!

Bearing in mind that (as reported previously in this forum) X64 is in fact more like X192.
This to me is one of the biggest problems.

4&6 were:
4. Season passes as per Tivo
6 Ability to adjust program start/stop times when progs over-run or run late

Really? Are they making changes to the data sent with the EPG? That'd be great news!

Well it appears they want to and is in consultation discussion with the rest of the industry. That was what I understood to be the situation a month or so ago so dont know where they are with this.

This might not be the best place to ask but their is so much info around the forum atm ...

What is the current status with regard to the next update we will get IE what are the thing's Humax want to / likely will be adding to the features list of our Humax' ?

If i where to give a top 5 wish list items i think they'd be :

1) EPG data saved to hard drive.
2) Improvents made to editing fuction.
3) Keep buffer when going into /out of menu's.
4) Retrospective playback/recording.
5) Improved search function.

and i have a sixth

I am in agreement of the following post, this is EXACTLY what i want to see from Humax. This would make it a SIMPLY outstanding piece of kit wher eit to have this.

* Press the other colored buttons to show programmes from a particular channel (G), genres (Y), or text search (B)
* The programme list would look like this but the preview would automatically play from where left off - if you press OK continue if you change recording it should go back to where it was before
* When there is no video the preview screen should disappear to allow more synopsis to be shown.”

There already is retrospective recordings: Go back to the point in the buffer you want to record from then press record - the manual denys this works, but it does. What's retrospective playback?

Ok heres my five:

1 . The ability to delete recordings from recordings list display.

2. When viewing programme info (i button) have the ability to view info for other channels using up/down buttons.

3. The ability to merge titles in the edit file screen (accessed using opt+ button). e.g. useful if you have recorded two parts of the same film either side of the news.

4. Have the possiblity of editing a recording schedule when programme recording has started. Useful if the football is running late and you want to add half hour onto the end time rather than starting a new recording.

5. Increase the number of channels on the guide display (perhaps 5 or 6).

revised wish list post updates:

1. cached EPG

2. List single channel option (like Digiguide)

3. Improved Transfer rate to PC

4. User Customisation via API (like Toppy)

5. Recordings list to flag whether watched/ have info available

One feature I would love to have, when using the 'pause' or 'slow motion' buttons, is for the onscreen display bar to disappear.

I was trying to watch (in slow motion) a crash which happened on a Moto gp race, but the bar was blocking some of the screen.

Very irritating

But why not just press exit when in slow motion mode? That will get rid of the bar but leave the playback speed unaffected.

Does that work? Ace. This has been a bother on one or two occasions in the past for me too.

Yep, I'm almost positive it does work. Unfortunately not at home just now to double-check (and Slingplayer doesn't have a slo-mo button on the virtual remote!) but I'm 99.9% certain I've done it in the past.

Cheers

Never thought of trying the 'exit' button.
I will try it next time.

I hope I'm not repeating what's been said here but when you check back to see what you have set up for recording and you press the info button you don't get the synopsis.

Example : I set up the Humax to record four episodes of futurama and had to reschedule two of the episodes that were being repeated later on this week, if the info was there I wouldn't have had to gone into schedule find function to work out what episodes I need to rejigg, a product of the EPG not saving to disk?

1. X32 fast forward and re-wind, X16 is sometimes too slow and X64 is too fast at times.

2. Buffer saved when changing channels.

3. Recordings go to full screen straight after pressing play in recorded programmes menu, rather than having to press exit.

4. EPG saved when in standby.

5. Update software and loader via USB.

1. A series link type functionality with a directory per programme title (i.e All episodes in a single subfolder)
2. High speed usb (with Mac support)
3. Option to pause current programme and flip through alternative available channels without losing buffer for a predetermined amount of time (30/60/300 seconds)

With reference to a couple of items on this wish list.

I hear from an authoritative source that a form of PDC is at the early stages of testing on Freeview. This works when the "Now and Next" changes and will require the broadcaster to change from Next to Now at the time the program actually changes rather than the time it is scheduled to change. I am told Humax are involved with this testing with specific reference to PVR9200T

See This Thread.

Humax certainly are interested in adopting this, but as of end last Week, there were changes still being made to the final specification, so no firm news on testing or implimenting as yet.

To Humax:

1. Please do a fix to stop the 'recording starting' flag coming up, also if you have 2 recordings on the go and record a second whilst watching a previous recording as well as the annoying flag you'll get it jumping to the recording start cahnnel and back again, can be really annoying especially if archiving to DVD at the time.

That's it otherwise i'm well happy!

Not in any order of preference

1. Info available from recored program list - i'm forever having to access the recording then press i , then stop to find out the info

2. More than 100 returns from a find in the EPG (especially now Film4 is on, the Film Genre is always full

3. Saved EPG

4. More robust auto-padding - replaced by PDC (this would be ideal)

5. Series link (again it just saves doing the same searches every week)

6. No output of the recorded reservation started into recored programs / while watching recorded programs - or the ability to turn the message off

the box is rather good as is - if the little things (or not so little) are added, as they have been then its just going to become better and better

A few that spring to mind ...
1. Series Link
2. x8 and x32 fast forward/rewind speeds ... x32 more important than x8. x64 is almost impossible to use (unless you've got the reacton time of a fighter pilot!) while x16 is too slow for getting a long way through a recording but possibly too fast for fine tuning a start point (which is where x8 would be useful)
3. Related to 2, a facility to enter a start point in hours and minutes (hh:mm) and to jump to that point in the recording.

While it isn't going to happen now there is one thing I would wish for from a hardware point of view. Ethernet.

Although I've not tried the usb interface yet I would of prefered an integrated ethernet interface which could then of been used either wired or with a wireless access point. Combine that with a simple ftp server and you would have the ability to transfer the files to any PC on the network and back again if you wanted.
